Where are the Top Class of 2021 Prospects Now?

The Class of 2021 was certainly a special one when looking back at the top baseball prospects in the class. A group that includes four impressive shortstops and one pitcher, these five players were among the top players selected in the 2021 MLB Draft, and are now considered as some of the best young prospects in the game.

However, when looking back at the Top 5 alone, where are those five players at now? Here is a look at the Top 5 players from the Class of 2021 according to Perfect Game, as well as where they are now and how they performed during the 2021 season after being drafted.

SS Brady House – Winder, GA

A standout shortstop at Winder-Barrow High School, and with Team Elite, House was selected by the Washington Nationals with the No. 11 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft. The Nationals current No. 2 prospect, as well as the No. 54 overall prospect in baseball, House appeared in 16 games with the FCL Nationals last season where he slashed .322/.394/.576 with four home runs and 12 RBI’s.

SS Marcelo Mayer – Chula Vista, CA

An impressive shortstop who played at Eastlake High School and with the San Diego Show, Mayer was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. Boston’s No. 1 prospect, as well as the No. 9 overall in baseball, Mayer appeared in 26 games with the FCL Red Sox where he slashed .275/.377/.440 with three home runs, 17 RBI’s, and seven stolen bases.

SS Jordan Lawlar – Irving, TX

The third shortstop of the group, Lawlar attended Jesuit College Prep, as well as playing with the Dallas Tigers, before being selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona’s top prospect, as well as the No. 13 overall prospect in baseball, Lawlar appeared in only two games last season where he went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

RHP Jackson Jobe – Oklahoma City, OK

The top pitcher in the 2021 class, Jobe attended Heritage Hall, as well as playing with Thrive Baseball, before being selected No. 3 overall in the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. Miami’s top prospect, as well as the No. 27 overall prospect in baseball, Watson appeared in nine games with the FCL Marlins where he slashed .394/.524/.606 with five RBI’s and four stolen bases.
