Top High School Pitchers in Each Class (2022-2026)
There is arguably no player on a baseball field that can affect a single game more than a dominant pitcher. Dictating every single play in a game, a dominant pitcher can single-handedly win your team a game with a strong performance on the mound. When looking at the current state of high school and travel baseball, there are five clear pitchers who are top in their class from 2022-2026, each of whom has set themselves apart over the years. Here is a look at those five pitchers, each of which are currently ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 1 player at the position in their class.
2022: RHP Dylan Lesko – Buford, GA
Undoubtedly the top high school pitcher in the Class of 2022 is Lesko, a right-hander from Buford, GA. Emerging as a top draft prospect in the 2022 MLB Draft, Lesko has shined for Buford High School, as well as the East Cobb Astros where he has amassed over 39 All-Tournament Teams and a seven-time MVPitcher in his Perfect Game career. Displaying an electric fastball that sits in the mid-to-upper 90’s, Lesko has some of the best pure-command in the 2022 class, as well as a dominant changeup and curveball.
2023: LHP Thomas White – Rowley, MA
Similar to Lesko previously, White you could argue is the top overall pitcher in the Class of 2023, as well as by-far the top left-hander. A native of Rowley, MA, White attends Phillips Academy, and spent time with a few travel baseball teams, most-recently the NEB Rays. A consistent strike-thrower, the left-hander sits in the low-90’s with movement on each of his pitches.
2024: LHP Jackson Sanders – Opelika, AL
When looking at each individual class, you could certainly make an argument that there is no-clearer top player at a position in their class than Sanders in the Class of 2024. A native of Opelika, AL, the left-hander attends Valley High School, and has been impressive playing with Team Elite. Sanders sits in the upper-80’s to low-90’s with his fastball, as well as having arguably the top breaking ball in the Class of 2024.
2025: RHP Samuel Cozart – High Point, NC
While the gap is a bit smaller compared to other classes, Cozart takes the top ranking in the Class of 2025. A native of High Point, NC, Cozart attends Wesleyan Christian Academy, as well as with the South Charlotte Panthers where he has seen success being named the 13U Pitcher of the Year. Standing at 6’7, Cozart is a consistent strike-thrower with his fastball, slider, and changeup with his fastball sitting in the upper-80’s to low-90’s.
2026: RHP Nicholas Bradley – Clarks Summit, PA
A native of Clarks Summit, PA, Bradley takes the top ranking in the Class of 2026 by a slim margin. Attending Abington Heights, Bradley has also played with East Coast Ghost Mocha where he has impressed early-on. A right-hander, Bradley consistently sits in the low-80’s led by a fastball and slider that has strong movement.
