Here are our Top 10 Performers from Week 8 of the 2025 Georgia High School Football Season
Top Overall Performers
McEachern Quarterback CJ Pittman had a big game against region rival Harrison last Friday night. The senior rushed 7 times for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns, while completing 13 of 22 pass attempts for 223 yards and 1 touchdown to lead his team to a 48-21 win to remain undefeated overall at 6-0 and 3-0 in the region.
Seminole County Athlete Kamauri Smith was instrumental in his team’s win last week. He rushed for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 carries in his team’s 35-14 victory over Miller County last Friday. The junior also had an 80-yard kick return for a TD on special teams, and on defense he recorded 7 tackles.
Top Offensive Performances
Houston County receiver MJ Mathis was one of Top Performers last week with 9 catches for 154 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns to help the Bears to a 48-0 win over Northside. Coach Jeremy Edwards‘ team is off to their best start in the history of the program at 7-0 to start the season.
Milton running back Bentley Hickman took over the primary rushing duties for the Eagles last week, and had a big night. The senior running back had 153 yards rushing on 21 carries and scored 2 touchdowns to help lead the Milton offense in their win over Lanier. Hickman averaged 7.3 yards per carry in the win.
Perry running back Decorrion Daniels rushed for 3 touchdowns and 96 yards on 16 carries to past the Panthers offense in their 38-0 win over Wayne County last Friday night. He also caught 2 passes for 10 yards.
McEachern wide receiver Zavion Harris had 7 receptions for 153 yards and 1 touchdown to help lead the Indians offensive attack against Harrison in a 48-21 region win. This was a region 3-AAAAAA showdown between the undefeated Indians and previously undefeated Hoyas.
It was also Harris’ first game back since suffering an earlier injury this season.
Westover wide receiver Mikhail Simmons had 8 receptions for 119 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns to help his Patriots to a win over Bainbridge last week.
Top Defensive Performances
Richmond Hill junior linebacker Jayon Deal had 21 total tackles, including 2 tackles for loss, 1 qb sack, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception to lead Richmond Hill to a big region win over Camden County.
Peach County Safety Bryson Hughley had another big game for the Trojans with 8 tackles and 1 interception to lead the Trojans defense in a 50-20 win over Dougherty last Friday night.
Top Special Team Performances
Central Carrollton kicker Jake Davis kicked a 47-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining to give his Lions a 24-21 victory over Jonesboro. The junior kicker/punter was also perfect on all three extra point attempts earlier in the game, and all four of his kickoffs were touchbacks.
