ITG Next’s September 2025 Georgia Female Athlete of the Month is Tift County High School senior Lily Robinson. She is a member of the Tift County softball team, where she plays first base and pitches.
Tift County head softball coach Jennifer Walls credited the senior for the role she has played in Tift County’s success.
“This is my second season as the head coach, and I spent my first year with the team as the pitching coach, so I have had the pleasure of coaching her for the past three years,” Walls said. “Lily is the kind of player who just keeps raising the bar every single season. She’s not only a leader, but also an example of what it takes to build a great program. Whether she’s on the mound or at the plate, Lily’s relentless work ethic sets the tone for the entire team.”
Robinson said she’s been playing softball since she could first pick up a bat, and the sport of softball is her number one sport of choice.
“I’ve been playing softball since I was about 6 years old.,” Robinson said. “I’ve stuck with softball and do not play any other sports.”
Lily Robinson is the team’s leading go-to pitcher. At the plate she has shown her versatility, hitting second in the batting order earlier this season to hitting in the cleanup spot currently for the Blue Devils.
With one game remaining in the 2025 Georgia high school softball season, Tift County is the top team in Region 1-6A with a 14-1 region record.
Robinson has a .532 slugging percentage and a .393 on-base percentage. She has four home runs and 21 RBIs as the season draws to a close. On the mound, she is 17-2 with 193 strikeouts this season.
“Lily is our ace,” Walls said.
Although Robinson’s time at Tift County is coming to a close, it won’t mean the end to her softball career.
“I’m excited to say I’ll be continuing my softball career at UWG (University of West Georgia), and I can’t wait for the opportunity to play at the next level,” she said.
Robinson was excited to learn she had been named ITG Next’s September 2025 Georgia Female Athlete of the Month.
“It feels amazing to be chosen as Athlete of the Month,” Robinson said. “I’ve put in a lot of hard work, so it’s really special to see it recognized. I’m thankful for my teammates and coaches, and they motivate me to keep pushing myself.”
