2025 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions Week 9

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 9 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season.

Richmond Hill at Valdosta

This is the third region game of the 2025 Georgia high school football season for each of the Wildcat programs after each team played their second region contest last week. Colquitt County hosted the Valdosta Wildcats at Mack Tharpe Stadium, where they won a close one 18-17. Richmond Hill hosted Camden County last week at their brand new stadium, where they also won a close one 24-20.

Can Richmond Hill make it two wins in two straight games over Valdosta? The Wildcats of Matt LeZotte hosted Valdosta’s Wildcats last year and came away with a decisive 35-14 win.

Richmond Hill is trying to establish respectability in the region, and show that they too are one of the true contenders for the region title year after year.

A win in this one goes a long way towards that goal.

Phil’s Pick: Valdosta 28, Richmond Hill 14

Tift County at Colquitt County

Last week, the Colquitt County Packers hosted the Valdosta Wildcats in their second region game of the year and came away winners over the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Tift County is also coming off a loss, this time to Lowndes High School at the home of the Vikings by a final of 35-0.

Can Tift find a way to get their first region win of the season, or will Colquitt win their second consecutive region game?

Phil’s Pick: Colquitt County 27, Tift County 14

Lowndes at Camden County

The next game in our 2025 Georgia high school football predictions for Week 9 is Lowndes at Camden County.

Lowndes is off to a 2-0 start in region play, with two impressive wins to start the season, over Colquitt County in week one and then last week over Tift County. Camden County is hoping to bounce back after suffering two defeats to start the 2025 region schedule. They gave up over 60 points in week one and last week lost a close one to Richmond Hill. Things won’t get any easier this week as The Vikings of Lowndes High School come calling to Kingston. Camden County will have upset on their mind, but will the Vikings let their guard down?

Lowndes keeps rolling.

Phil’s Pick: Lowndes 42, Camden County 14

Carver (Columbus) at Sumter County

This is the one that fans in Columbus and Americus have been waiting on all season long. It’s arguably the toughest matchup so far in 2025 for the Carver Tigers, and the hardest game since Sumter’s opener vs Crisp County.

Both teams are undefeated coming into this one, and it is the unofficial region championship game, although each team has two games left on their schedule.

Last year’s game was also a highly anticipated matchup, but it turned out to be a Carver runaway.

Will Sumter make this one a different game compared to last year?

Phil’s Pick: Carver 30, Sumter County 21

Appling County at Crisp County

Two weeks ago, Tucker Pruitt took his new team, the Appling County Pirates, into Jaycee Stadium to battle his former team, the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes, and came away with an exciting last-second win on a field goal as time expired. The Pirates and Pruitt had a chance to enjoy the win with a bye last week. They’ll get back to it this week with another road trip as they head to Cordele to take on the Crisp County Cougars of Justin Newman.

It’s a big region game for these two teams as they look to make the playoffs out of region 3-AA.

Phil’s Pick: Crisp County 26, Appling County 16

Fitzgerald at Thomasville

The Purple Hurricanes are coming off a big win last week at home vs Brantley County. It was a much-needed win for coach Wesley Tankersley after suffering three straight losses. Now, the Purple Hurricanes will try to get on a different kind of streak as they head to Thomasville to battle the Bulldogs of Coach Johnathon Delay. The Bulldogs are coming off a crazy game against Worth County that ended up in an overtime loss. The Bulldogs will look to get back on track this week.

Phil’s Pick: Thomasville 35, Fitzgerald 21

That’s our 2025 Georgia high school football predictions for Week 9.
