Florida High School Girls Basketball Top 25: Classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A

With the 2023 Florida high school girls basketball season having officially come to an end, our Top-25 rankings receives its final update of the year, and it’s headlined by Montverde Academy ending the season in the No. 1 spot. In addition to that, six state champions also finish the year ranked. The seven teams who won a championship last week are listed below, followed by the Top-25.

As we enter the region semifinal round of the 2023 Florida high school girls basketball playoffs this Tuesday, a few teams see a small rise in our latest Top 25 rankings. Included in that group are Rutherford, Hagerty, American Heritage, Cardinal Mooney, and Seffner Christian, while one new team enters the rankings, Class 3A’s Westminster Academy, with the Lions now sitting at the No. 25 spot. Central Pointe Christian jumps a spot into the Top 5 over DME Academy, an opponent the White Tigers defeated 44-36 last on February 9.

As we near the 2023 Florida high school girls basketball playoffs, three teams – Hagerty, Palm Bay, and Spruce Creek – were the biggest movers of the week in our latest rankings, each moving up four spots. Two teams saw notable rises within the top five: Dr. Phillips and Bishop Kenny, which jumps two spots to No. 4. Three new teams entered the rankings, two of which come from Class 3A: Somerset Academy Silver Palms at No. 21 and Seffner Christian at No. 25. Class 7A’s Plant enters the week sitting at No. 20.

As with our latest boys rankings, the Top 25 for 2023 Florida high school girls basketball going forward will combine all classifications, as well as independent teams. And just as in the boys rankings, Montverde Academy holds the No. 1 spot here, with the Eagles remaining unbeaten at 18-0 as of January 14.

Class 7A lands the most teams from any classification on the initial 1A-7A rankings with six: Dr. Phillips, Miami, Winter Haven, Hagerty, Colonial, and Spruce Creek. Classes 6A and 4A are tied for second, with each having five teams apiece in the Top 25.
