2022-23 Florida High School Girls Basketball Rankings: Classes 4A-7A

Five Newcomers Headline Latest Top-25

The latest update of our Florida high school girls basketball 4A-7A Top 25 rankings is headlined by the debut of five teams – Winter Haven, Oakleaf, Hagerty, Plant, and Tampa Bay Tech – each of which sit in the Nos. 20-25 range. Central Pointe Christian also rises a spot into the top five, while Rutherford makes the biggest move of the week, jumping eight spots to No. 11. South Broward, Gateway, and St. Cloud also climbed five spots each.

The latest update of our Florida high school girls basketball rankings for Classes 4A-7A features four new teams entering the mix in the No. 21-25 spots: South Broward, Gateway, St. Cloud, and Clearwater. Blanche Ely, Bloomingdale, and Booker were among the biggest movers of the week as each rose at least four spots, with Class 7A’s Dr. Phillips also seeing a notable jump into the Top-5 at No. 4.

Here is the first update of our Florida high school girls basketball Top 25 rankings for Classes 4A-7A, which sees various teams on the list moving either up or down. This update is headlined by the rise of Lake Highland Prep and American Heritage within the top 5. Bloomingdale, Nease, and Bishop Moore were among the teams making the biggest jumps this week. One newcomer, Class 4A’s Rutherford, debuted at No. 22; the Rams are off to an impressive 5-1 start to the year, with their one loss coming to No. 2 DME Academy.

Preseason Rankings

As with our 2022-23 Florida high school basketball boys Top 25 rankings for Classes 4A-7A, Montverde Academy opens the season atop the girls Top 25, with the top five rounded out by DME Academy, defending 6A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas, Lake Highland Prep, and American Heritage. Defending Class 7A state champion Dr. Phillips also begins the year highly ranked as the Panthers sit just outside the top five at No. 6 entering the season.

Wekiva and Miami, the Class 6A and 7A state runners-up from a year ago, also enter the season in the Top 10, while two other 2021-22 runners-up are also ranked – Calvary Christian at No. 16 and Bishop Moore at No. 20. (Note: Independent teams will be included in the 4A-7A Top 25 this season.)
