2022-23 Florida High School Girls Basketball Rankings: Classes 1A-3A

Four Teams Debut at Nos. 22-25

The first update of the new year for our 2022-23 Florida high school girls basketball 1A-3A rankings features four new teams entering the mix at the Nos. 22-25 spots – Liberty County, Aucilla Christian, Tampa Prep, and Mount Dora Christian. Class 1A’s Ponce De Leon also rises a spot within the top five, while Jay and Horeb Christian were the biggest movers of the week, jumping three and six spots, respectively.

This week’s update of our 2022-23 Florida high school girls basketball rankings for Classes 1A-3A is headlined by a new No. 1 team, 3A’s Miami Country Day, which jumps two spots from No. 3. Ponce De Leon, Central Florida Christian, Chipley, and Evangelical Christian also move up, and five new teams enter the rankings, headlined by 3A’s Seffner Christian at No. 12.

Here is the latest update of our 2022-23 Classes 1A-3A Top 25 rankings for the 2022-23 Florida high school girls basketball season. Four teams moved up within the Top 10, including Ponce De Leon, Providence, and Holy Trinity Episcopal, each of which climbed at least two spots. Keswick Christian, Chipley, and Central Florida Christian also were among the most notable risers of the week, while one new team entered the rankings – Class 2A’s Evangelical Christian debuted at No. 23.

Preseason Rankings

Holding the top spot in our initial 2022-23 Florida high school girls basketball rankings for Classes 1A-3A is Westminster Academy, the defending 3A state champion. Two additional defending state champs also begin the 2022-23 season ranked within the Top 10: 2A’s Miami Christian at No. 3 and 1A’s Ponce De Leon at No. 9.

The Class 3A and 2A runners-up from a year ago, Cardinal Mooney and Faith Christian, also begin the season ranked within the Top 10, while 2021-22 1A runner-up Wildwood enters the campaign at No. 13.
