10. CG Alex Lloyd (Westminster Academy)
We begin with Lloyd, a four-star combo guard in the 2025 class out of Class 3A’s Westminster Academy. Lloyd was one of the top scorers on this list a year ago, leading the Lions to the regional finals while averaging 18.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 3.2 APG, and 2.1 SPG.
9. SG Cayden Boozer (Miami Columbus)
Two-time defending Class 7A state champion Miami Columbus lands a pair of players on this list of top Florida basketball players. The first is Boozer, a four-star shooting guard in the 2025 class and a key factor on both ends of the floor for the Explorers last season, averaging 15.1 PPG, 5 RPG, 4.3 APG, and 2 SPG.
8. SF Jamier Jones (IMG Academy)
In addition to IMG Academy’s two honorable mentions above, the Ascenders also have two players in the Top 10, the first of whom is Jones at No. 8. He’s one of the state’s top players in the 2025 class, rated as a five-star small forward.
7. PF Asa Newell (Montverde Academy)
Montverde Academy lands the most players of any team on this list of top Florida high school basketball players. The first is Newell, a five-star power forward in the 2024 class who’s coming off a junior season in which he averaged 6.6 PPG and 3.3 RPG for the Eagles.
6. SF Bryson Tucker (IMG Academy)
The second IMG Academy product on this list is Tucker, who will be entering his senior season in 2023-24. A five-star small forward in the 2024 class, Tucker helped lead the Ascenders to an 18-8 record last season after transferring from out-of-state Mount St. Joseph (MD).
5. C Derik Queen (Montverde Academy)
We begin the top five with Queen, the first of three Montverde Academy players on the list. A five-star center in the 2024 class, Queen led the Eagles in rebounding (6.6 RPG) last season, while averaging 11.7 PPG, 2.2 APG, and 1.1 SPG.
4. SF Karter Knox (Tampa Catholic)
The No. 4 spot goes to Knox, a five-star small forward in the 2024 class from Tampa Catholic. Knox is coming off one of the more impressive 2022-23 seasons of any name on this list, leading the Crusaders to the Class 3A state semifinals by averaging 19.8 PPG and 9.9 RPG, both of which led the team, along with 2.6 APG, 1.7 SPG, and 1.2 BPG.
3. PF Cooper Flagg (Montverde Academy)
The second of those three Montverde Academy players within the top five is Flagg, a five-star power forward who is considered the state’s, and the nation’s, No. 2 overall player in the 2025 class. Flagg was one of the Eagles’ top players in 2022-23, averaging 9.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 3 APG, 2.2 BPG, and 1.6 SPG.
2. PF Liam McNeeley (Montverde Academy)
Coming in at No. 2 is McNeeley, who is arguably the state’s top player in the 2024 class, as well as the highest-ranked player from Montverde Academy on this list. McNeeley, a five-star power forward, led the Eagles in scoring last season at 12.4 PPG, while also averaging 4 RPG and 2.2 APG.

PF Cameron Boozer (Miami Columbus)
We conclude our list of top Florida basketball players with Boozer, who will return for his junior season for two-time reigning Class 7A state champion Miami Columbus. Boozer, a five-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the 2025 class, is coming off a stellar 2022-23 season in which he was the first sophomore to be named MaxPreps National Player of the Year. He lead the Explorers in multiple statistical categories, averaging 21.1 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 4.2 APG, 2 BPG, and 1.3 SPG.
