This week, the 2025 Alabama high school football season will officially come to an end with state champions being decided at this week’s AHSAA Super 7 in Birmingham.
Taking place from Protective Stadium, the AHSAA Super 7 begins Wednesday night with the Class 7A state championship game, which is played between Thompson and Opelika.
Alongside that game, the state’s other top classifications all have intriguing matchups set to take place, with all taking place Thursday or Friday of this week.
Following is a preview for every state title showdown from Classes 4A-6A, as well as a pick for each game.
Class 6A: Saraland Spartans vs. Clay-Chalkville Cougars

Saraland vs. Clay-Chalkville prediction
This game, one could argue, is the biggest matchup at this week’s Super 7, and honestly, we agree, as Saraland and Clay-Chalkville both enter this game at No. 1 and No. 2 in our latest statewide Top 25 rankings.
A rematch of the 2023 Class 6A state title game, one where Clay-Chalkville claimed a 31-28 victory, this season’s meeting has the potential be another close game, as these two teams are pretty even when comparing on paper. As for a winner though, I’ll go with the Cougars to win this undefeated clash, one that has all the makings of a classic going in.
Prediction: Saraland 33, Clay-Chalkville 35
Class 5A: Moody Blue Devils vs. Vigor Wolves

Moody vs. Vigor prediction
A pair of 12-2 teams meet for the 5A title in Moody and Vigor, both of which are familiar on the state’s biggest stage.
Moody finished last season as the Class 5A state runner-up, and will be looking to claim a win in this game in Birmingham, but will have to do it against a Vigor team that is only a few season’s removed from winning the 4A title back in 2021. A pair of teams led by two of the state’s top juniors in Jabarrius Garror and Ba’Roc Willis, expect a close, four quarter battle between the Blue Devils and Wolves.

Class 4A: Jackson Aggies vs. Anniston Bulldogs

Jackson vs. Anniston prediction
The defending Class 4A state champions, Jackson looks for back-to-back titles here, while Anniston is looking to cap one of their best season’s in recent history with a championship.
When breaking down these two teams, Jackson is likely the favorite on paper, as not only are the Aggies familiar this stage, but they also return a majority of production from a team which delivered one of state’s top performances in state title history a year ago. Anniston however will not be an easy out though, as the Bulldogs are undefeated this season, and have been tested numerous times, responding in each.
