Top 2022 MLB Draft Prospects From California

2022 MLB Draft California

Having already looked at the top 2022 MLB Draft prospects from the states of Georgia and Florida previously, which top prospects are from the state of California? Yes, the same state that produced notable high picks from last year such as Marcelo Mayer, Max Muncy, and more – who’s next in 2022?

Mikey Romero

A shortstop from Orange Lutheran High School, Romero is coming off an impressive junior season in which he slashed .362/.392/.507 across 20 games. The LSU commit has impressive hitting skills, something that could see Romero selected as a first round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Henry Bolte

Coming off an impressive junior season in which Bolte posted a 1.048 OPS with 15 extra-base hits and 26 RBI’s, the Palo Alto High School standout is cemented as one of California’s top outfielders entering 2022. Bolte is not only an impressive hitter with plus power, but the outfielder also has some of the best speed of any player in the state.

Malcolm Moore

Not only is Moore the state’s top catcher entering the 2022 season, but he is arguably the best pure hitter as well, evident by his .535 AVG, seven home runs, and 55 RBI’s across 23 games a year ago. The McClatchy High School star is likely to be selected around the same pick range as both Romero and Bolte previously.

Jacob Reimer

Right up there with Moore previously as a hitter is Reimer, a talented third baseman from Yucaipa High School. A Washington commit, the 6-foot-3 Reimer is also coming off a phenomenal junior season in which he slashed .440/.567/.824 across 30 games with seven home runs and 33 RBI’s.

Jaden Noot

The top prep pitcher from the state of California in the 2022 MLB Draft is Noot, a 6-foot-4 right-hander from Sierra Canyon High School. Displaying an impressive four-pitch mix led by his fastball and slider, the LSU commit is a likely pick in rounds two or three.

Austin Charles

One of the more intriguing prospects from the state is Charles, a two-way player from Stockdale High School. A UC-Santa Barbara commit, Charles is a likely selection in rounds two-to-four, and is coming off an impressive junior season, especially offensively where the shortstop hit for a .339 AVG with three home runs in 18 games.
