2022 Florida High School Football Pick 6: Week 5 Predictions

Miami Northwestern vs. Miami Columbus

Week 5 of our Florida high school football predictions features a collision of two of the top teams in the Miami area Thursday night. This matchup between Northwestern and Columbus promises to be close throughout. The Bulls, who are averaging 33 ppg on offense, will be matched against an Explorers team that is one of the state’s best at the moment. They boast an undefeated 4-0 record that’s headlined by a win over defending 6A state champion Jesuit.

Prediction: Miami Columbus 31, Miami Northwestern 28

IMG Academy vs. Central-Phenix City (AL)

IMG Academy will travel to Alabama for the second consecutive season – the Ascenders won at Auburn a year ago – to take on Central-Phenix City. The Red Devils are one of the top teams in the Yellowhammer State regardless of classification, meaning that this matchup pits one of Florida’s best against one of Alabama’s best.

Prediction: IMG Academy 35, Central-Phenix City (AL) 17

Miami Central vs. Dillard

Two of the top teams in Classes 2M and 3M will collide on Friday night as Miami Central puts its undefeated 3-0 start on the line against Dillard. The Rockets have been one of Florida’s most impressive teams so far this season, but they certainly are in for another test in Week 5. Our Florida high school football predictions include their game this week against a Panthers team that is 2-1, with that lone loss coming at the hands of Chaminade-Madonna.

Prediction: Miami Central 35, Dillard 21

Venice vs. Seminole

Defending 8A state champion Venice is off to a 1-2 start to the 2022 season, owning losses to both Miami Northwestern and St. Frances Academy (MD), one of the top teams in the country. Things certainly don’t get any easier for the Indians this Friday night as Venice hosts undefeated Seminole, one of the top teams in Class 4M.

Prediction: Venice 24, Seminole 21

Edgewater vs. Apopka

Edgewater (4-0) continues to face a tough schedule as the Eagles host Class 4M’s Apopka this week. The Blue Darters defense has allowed only 31 points to opponents this season. They’ll be tasked with slowing down an Edgewater offense led by one of the state’s top running backs in Cedric Baxter Jr.

Prediction: Edgewater 21, Apopka 14

Rockledge vs. Osceola

Week 5 of our Florida high school football predictions brings us one of the top teams in Class 3S, Rockledge, putting its undefeated 4-0 record on the line against 4S’s Osceola, with the Kowboys being arguably the Raiders’ toughest test yet. Rockledge has been dominant on both sides of the ball, outscoring opponents 165-7, while Osceola’s defense has allowed only 58 points to date.

Prediction: Rockledge 21, Osceola 17
