Where are They Now: The Last 5 Top Rated Perfect Game Prospects from Georgia

It is well-known that the state of Georgia has a rich-history of putting top baseball prospects at the next level, whether professional or collegiate. With the state also the home of numerous top travel baseball programs, Georgia has seen its fair share of top baseball prospects take center-stage for years.

However, where are those former top baseball prospects from the state of Georgia at now? Here is a look at the last five top-rated players from the state of Georgia according to Perfect Game, as well as where they are playing now.

2021: SS Brady House – Winder, GA

The most-recent top prospect from the state, House starred at Winder-Barrow High School and with Team Elite before being selected 11th overall in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals. Currently rated as the Nationals No. 3 prospect, as well as the No. 55 overall prospect in baseball, House appeared in 16 games this season with the FCL Nationals where he slashed .322/.394/.576 with four home runs and 12 RBI’s.

2020: 3B Jordan Walker – Stone Mountain, GA

Rated as the No. 2 player nationally by Perfect Game after playing at Decatur High School and with the Decatur Bulldogs, Walker was selected 21st overall by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2020 MLB Draft. Walker is currently the Cardinals No. 3 prospect, as well as the No. 58 overall prospect in baseball, and recently slashed .317//388/.548 with 14 home runs and 48 RBI’s between Low-A and High-A. 

2019: SS CJ Abrams – Alpharetta, GA

Also rated as the No. 2 player in the country out of high school, Abrams attended Blessed Trinity Catholic, as well as playing with the Blessed Trinity Titans, Abrams was selected with the 6th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. The Padres top prospect and No. 6 overall prospect in the game, Abrams hit .296 this season in Double-A.

2018: RHP Ethan Hankins – Cumming, GA

Hankins attended Forsyth Central High School, as well as starring on the mound with Team Elite before being selected 35th overall in the 2018 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. Currently the Indians No. 21 prospect, the right-hander has not pitched since 2019. 

2017: LHP DL Hall – Warner Robbins, GA

A star at Valdosta High School, DL Hall played with Chain National before being selected 21st overall in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. Rated as Baltimore’s No. 3 prospect and the No. 73 in baseball, the left-hander has posted a 3.13 ERA in seven starts this season in Double-A.
