Top 25 Girls Basketball Rankings 4A-7A – 3.7.22
Our updated ranking undergoes major changes, with 14 ranked teams eliminated from the state playoffs over the past two rounds. The biggest shocker was top-ranked River Ridge, who lost to Lovejoy in the 6A quarterfinals. This update also saw three of our top 5 girls teams eliminated. In addition to River Ridge, Brookwood lost to Norcross in the 7A playoffs, and previously fifth ranked North Forsyth lost to Grayson in the second round. Luella, our previous ranked No.2 team, takes over the top spot this week.

Our updated Georgia girls basketball ranking for 1A-3A has changed throughout the top 25 teams. There are several teams in the top 5 remaining mostly where they have been since our first poll, while others have said goodbye. There are also some newcomers as well. Lumpkin County remains our top team, but as the semi finals loom, will they stay there? Newcomer Westminster are coming off a big win over Sumter County on the Lady Panther’s home court last week, and could be looking for yet another state title to add to their long list of championships. But, Greater Atlanta Christian, who upset Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe, could be looking to take over.

Top 25 Girls Basketball Rankings 4A-7A – 2.6.22
Our updated ranking sees the top four staying put, while Carver Columbus makes the biggest jump, climbing nine spots to slide into the top five. Buford, who are on quite the run with an 18-3 mark, moves into the top 10. Newcomers to this week’s top 25 are Rome, Warner Robins, Griffin, and Cherokee High, rounding out four of the final five spots on this week’s rankings. The Hoyas of Harrison remain in the No.24 spot.

Our updated Georgia Girls Basketball Ranking of 2022 sees a few changes, with several newcomers moving into the top 25. Holy Innocents moves up from No.5 to No.2, after their convincing 17-point win over Class A Private rival Hebron Christian. Rabun County is our big mover this week, jumping 10 spots to N.10. Newcomer Sumter County earned their way in with a huge OT win over traditional 7A powerhouse Tift Co. Dodge County sneaks into the final poll spot with a two-point win over Northeast Macon.

Our first girls rankings of the new year includes some super talented squads, especially in the Top 10. Sitting atop the list are the River Ridge girls, who are on a blistering run right now, winning 17 games while suffering only one loss. That was to 7A North Forsyth, who are one of those talented Top 10 teams mentioned earlier. Speaking of the Lady Raiders, they are 15-3 overall, with the three losses coming against out-of-state opponents. They could be the team to watch moving up through the polls in the coming weeks. That’s because their starting five has played together every season so far throughout their high school career. They are certainly a team to look out for. Luella is our No. 2 team, as they defeated Carrollton in the MLK Holiday tourney last week. Others coming off impressive victories recently include Lovejoy, Buford, and Brunswick.

Our first Georgia Girls Basketball Ranking of 2022 has a couple of class 3A teams sitting atop the list, with Lumpkin County and Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe at No.1 and No.2, respectively. A key matchup coming up this week features Elbert County at Rabun County. The Lady Devils are riding a hot streak, winning six games straight and improving to 17-2 overall entering the contest with the Lady Wildcats. Rabun County is red hot also, winning 12 of their last 13 games. Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe is still undefeated with a 17-0 overall record, as they head to Ringgold for a key region contest over the weekend. Class A Public boasts three teams in our Top 10 with Montgomery County, Bryan County, and Lake Oconee Academy coming in at No. 4, No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
