Top 12 Georgia High School Baseball Players So Far in 2025

We recently gave you our updated ranking of the top Georgia high school baseball teams. Now we give you the players we think are among the best in the state so far this season. This was tough. I can’t recall a season when we’ve had so much top high school baseball talent in the state of Georgia.

1. Reid Worley, RHP | Cherokee

Reid Worley is a dominant pitcher with a four-pitch mix, including a fastball that tops out in the mid-90s. Perfect Game rates him as the No. 1 pitcher in Georgia.

Through the first two months of the season, he pitched 28.2 innings with 52 strikeouts and a .098 ERA. He has the Cherokee High School single-season record for most strikeouts with 90.

He has committed to Kennesaw State.

2. Coleman Lewis, OF | Lowndes

Ian Smith, an assistant scouting director for Prep Baseball Georgia, described outfielder Coleman Lewis as “the most physical player” in the 2025 Class. That’s because of the vicious hand and bat speed Lewis explodes with through the zone.

Smith also described a Lewis home run earlier this year at Tift County as “possibly the longest HR I’ve seen this spring.”

Lewis has an OBP of 1.236 with a .661 slugging percentage through the first 24 games of the season. He also has 11 stolen bases out of 12 attempts.

Lewis has committed to Georgia Tech.

3. Jackson Peavy, LHP | Peach County

Jackson Peavy is a 6-foot-4, left-handed pitcher for the Peach County Trojans. He makes left-handed batters weak at the knees with a fastball in the high-80s to low-90s that is complemented by a mid-70s curve and change that bites away from right-handed batters.

Peavy has led the Trojans to a 20-2 overall record with an 8-0 win-loss record and a 1.54 ERA. He has 85 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched.

Peavy has committed to play for UGA.

4. John Stuetzer, CF/SS | Pope

Center fielder and shortstop John Stuetzer has great hand-bat speed that puts a lot of pop in his bat. That, along with his speed on the bases and in the outfield, makes him one of the state’s best all-around, five-tool players, especially defensively, in the Class of 2025.

Stuetzer has led Pope to a 19-3 season so far, including an undefeated 13-0 record in Region 6-5A.

“Hitting in the leadoff spot, John has set the tone for the Pope offense all season with his aggressive baserunning and hitting prowess,” Chris Turco, Pope head baseball coach, said. “He has been the consummate leader that all his teammates look up to, and he rises to the occasion when his team news him the most.”

Stuetzer is a Florida State commit.

5. Malachi Washington, OF | Parkview

Malachi Washington, a junior, packs a powerful swing with 11 HRs in just 24 games for Parkview. If he isn’t hitting it far, he’s hitting it where the other players aren’t. Washington is batting .597 with 40 hits and 45 RBIs in just 67 at-bats.

He is an LSU commit.

6. Ty Peeples, OF/RHP | Franklin County

Outfielder and right-handed pitcher Ty Peeples, a senior, broke the Georgia high school all-time walks record earlier this year. That’s a display of patience and discipline at the plate and just one of his many advanced skills.

Peeples is a UGA commit.

7. Daniel Pierce, SS | Mill Creek

Mill Creek shortstop Daniel Pierce, a senior, has started all four years of his high school baseball career and is considered a rare five-tool player. He hits for power and contact, and he is fast on the basepaths with a 60-yard dash time of 7.71 seconds.

Pierce is committed to the University of Georgia.

8. Terrance Bowen, SS | Blessed Trinity

Blessed Trinity shortstop Terrance Bowen, a senior, has college recruiters and pro scouts raving about his bat speed and 107.8 mph exit velocity, which is considered to be one of the highest EVs recorded this season.

Bowen is committed to Oklahoma State.

9. Cannon Goldin, CF | Buford

Buford center fielder Cannon Goldin, a senior, has everything the pro scouts are looking for, making him a five-tool player and top prospect.

He is committed to Ole Miss, but there’s a good chance he may never play an inning for the Rebels. He’ll likely be considered as a high draft selection in the next MLB draft.

10. Dean Livingston, RHP/SS | Hebron Christian

Hebron Christian right-handed pitcher and shortstop Dean Livingston is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound fireballer with a fastball that tops out in the mid-90s. He also has a nasty curveball to complement the heater. He is 6-2 with a 1.44 ERA with 85 strikeouts this season.  He can also rake at the plate, as he hit .412 through the first 23 games with seven HRs and 28 hits in 68 ABs.

Livingston is a UGA commit.

11. Will Allen, RHP | Houston County

Right-handed pitcher Will Allen is Houston County’s No. 1 arm in one of the state’s top pitching rotations.

Through the Bears’ first 22 games, Allen has led his team to an 18-4 record with a 6-0 W/L record. He has a 1.250 ERA, with opponents hitting just .139 against him. Allen has registered 43 Ks in 28 IPs.

Allen was named the 2024 Region 2-5A Pitcher of the Year, and he is committed to USF.

12. Dax Kilby, MI | Newnan

Dax Kilby, a senior, is a middle infielder for Newnan and is a Perfect Game All-American selection. He is a left-handed batter and right-handed thrower who is noted for his bat speed and foot speed on the bases. His speed and excellent range make him one of the top shortstops in Georgia.

Kilby is committed to Clemson.
