The top linebacker nationally in high school football is Hill, a five-star senior prospect from Ryan High School in Texas. Hill, one of the top overall players in Texas, received numerous honors both statewide and nationally last season. He collected 131 total tackles, 18 TFL, and eight sacks.
2. Troy Bowles (Jesuit, FL)
The first name behind Hill among the best linebackers entering the 2022 high school football season is Bowles, the top player at the position in Florida. Attending Jesuit High School, the four-star prospect is coming off a junior season in which he collected 103 tackles, six TFL, and three sacks for the Florida Class 6A state champions.
3. Raylen Wilson (Lincoln, FL)
A recent Georgia commit, Wilson returns for the 2022 season as one of the top linebackers in Florida, where he attends Lincoln High School. The four-star prospect is coming off a junior season in which he collected 139 total tackles, 16 TFL, and five sacks.
4. Jaiden Ausberry (University Lab, LA)
University Lab in Louisiana has produced some notable names on defense in recent years, with Ausberry next on the list to join the likes of Jaquelin Roy and Christian Harris. The four-star prospect returns for a Cubs team that is one of the best in Louisiana.
5. Drayk Bowen (Andrean, IN)
Bowen, the top player in Indiana, is a four-star prospect who attends Andrean High School. A Notre Dame commit, he collected 105 tackles, 12 TFL, and three sacks a year ago as a junior, while also making a significant impact at running back, where he rushed for 18 touchdowns.
6. Tackett Curtis (Many, LA)
The second linebacker on this list from Louisiana, Curtis returns for his senior season at Many High School and a Tigers team that is one of best in Class 2A. The four-star prospect is coming off a junior campaign in which he collected 103 tackles and 12.5 TFL.
7. Sammy Brown (Jefferson, GA)
When it comes to the label of the top linebacker in the 2024 class, two names stick out in that conversation. The first is Brown, a five-star prospect and top-10 player nationally. He attends Georgia’s Jefferson High School, where he plays both ways, at running back and linebacker.
8. CJ Allen (Lamar County, GA)
A four-star prospect, Allen comes in at No. 8 as the second consecutive player from Georgia on our list of the top-10 linebackers in 2022 high school football. A two-way player similar to Brown, the Georgia commit attends Lamar County High School. where he collected 91 tackles, 7.5 TFL, and three sacks a year ago.
9. Andrew Harris (Lake Brantley, FL)
A recent UCF commit, Harris is coming off a junior season that was one of the best among linebackers in Florida. Attending Lake Brantley High School, the four-star prospect collected a 103 tackles, 14 TFL, and three sacks.
10. TJ Capers (Miami Columbus, FL)
The second of the two top linebackers in the 2024 class, Capers concludes this list of best linebackers entering the 2022 high school football season. The five-star prospect from Miami Columbus collected 53 tackles and two sacks a year ago as a sophomore.
