Here’s a breakdown of the Top 10 athletes in Georgia high school football heading into the 2025 season. This position may just be the most important on the field, as these players show the versatility to play anywhere and do it well.
To be honest, there really isn’t a whole lot of difference between any of our Top 10 ranked athletes. It’s really splitting hairs.
1. Tyriq “Ty Boogie” Green | Buford | C/O 2026
Our top choice for athlete is the most electrifying player in the state that I have ever seen. The player they call “Ty Boogie,” Tyriq Green can and does do it all for the Buford Wolves. He’s the true definition of an athlete as an offensive, defensive, and special teams threat. Green is one step ahead of the rest.
2. Terrious Favors | Carver (Atlanta) | C/O 2026
Terrious Favors of Carver (Atlanta) is a three-star recruit who is committed to Boise State. He has proven he is a menace from anywhere on the field as his six returned touchdowns, 15 receiving touchdowns, and 10 interceptions have proven so far.
3. Jontavius Wyman | Jonesboro | C/O 2026
Four-star recruit and Miami commit Jontavius Wyman is primarily considered a cornerback, but shows his ability as a receiver who can go vertical and get the ball from either spot.
4. Keyon Standifer | Athens Academy | C/O 2027
Keyon Standifer’s career numbers in just two seasons with Athens Academy are among the best of our group: 2,606 total yards, 30 touchdowns, 35 tackles, seven interceptions… You get the picture.
5. Jorden Edmonds | Sprayberry | C/O 2026
Jorden Edmonds is a five-star cornerback recruit committed to Alabama. He is also a great receiver, so I classify the talented senior as an athlete and one of the best all-around players period.
6. Prince Jean | Valdosta | C/O 2026
Prince Jean is the true definition of an athlete. The Valdosta senior can play any of the skill positions and has. I’ve seen him take snaps at quarterback, catch passes as a receiver, line up against the best receivers, and return kicks, and he can do all of those things as well as any player in the state. Jean has committed to the University of Kentucky.
7. Blake Stewart | Woodward Academy | C/O 2026
Blake Stewart has played defensive back, receiver, kick returner, and punt returner at Woodward Academy. The four-star recruit recently announced his commitment to Clemson over Vanderbilt, Miami, and Michigan.
8. Justin Murphy | North Clayton | C/O 2027
Justin Murphy is a four-star recruit from North Clayton High School, where he has excelled as the team’s quarterback. He’s a gifted athlete who can fly, and he could play QB or defensive back depending on the needs of the college program that he decides on.
9. KJ Caldwell Jr. | Parkview | C/O 2027
KJ Caldwell, a four-star recruit, has been primarily considered a safety during his career at Parkview.
“KJ is a top-tier safety, but he has higher value as an athlete for us,” said Adam Clack, Parkview head football coach, earlier this year following spring practice.
10. Darnell Collins | Rome | C/O 2026
Darnell Collins, a three-star recruit, has chosen Georgia Tech as his college home following his high school career with the Rome Wolves. He’s a wide receiver and defensive back who could easily play either position at the next level.
