Here are ITG Next’s top 10 performers from Week 2 of the 2026 Georgia high school football season.
Top Offensive Performances
Thomasville quarterback Christian Hayes led the Bulldogs to a big win over Bainbridge last week. Hayes rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 carries. He also completed 7-of-13 passes for 86 yards.
Baker County quarterback Taylor Sanders, a senior, had 20 carries for 312 yards rushing while also passing for 120 yards against Southern Christian.
Jefferson athlete Carter Perrin, a junior, returned a kick 81 yards for a touchdown, returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown, and caught a 22-yard touchdown pass to lead his Dragons.
Lowndes quarterback Jayce Johnson led the Vikings’ offense, completing 8-of-11 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson also had three carries for 31 yards and one rushing touchdown to lead the Vikings to 2-0 on the season.
Toombs County running back Donterrius Mincey had 22 carries for 207 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a win over Vidalia.
Bacon County athlete Jamon Ellis scored all four touchdowns in the Red Raiders’ 28-0 win over Irwin County. He had six carries on offense, with three resulting in touchdowns. Ellis also rushed for 166 yards and scored a fourth touchdown on a 75-yard punt return.
Top Defensive Performances
Lee County linebacker Jace Murray had 14 tackles, including three tackles for loss and two sacks, to pace the Trojans’ defense in their win over Miami Carol City. Murray led a Lee County defense that held Miami Carol City’s offense to zero first downs in the second half.
Calhoun linebacker Tony Reid Jr. had 20 tackles plus one pass breakup for the Yellow Jackets’ defense against Greater Atlanta Christian.
Tift County linebacker Tanner Fechner had 15 tackles, including six tackles for loss and a sack, in the Blue Devils’ win at Effingham County.
Top Special Teams Performances
West Forsyth kicker Cayden Frank was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts with two 23-yard field goals and a 33-yard field goal. He was 2-for-2 on extra-point attempts and had one 36-yard punt. Four of his six kickoffs were touchbacks. West Forsyth defeated Norcross.
