Osceola High School Volleyball Player Cate Palmi Named ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for August 2023

Continuing our monthly series from the viewpoint of “Athlete to Watch” this season, Osceola volleyball standout Cate Palmi has been voted the ITG Florida Female Athlete of the Month for August 2023.

This month’s finalists all came from the state’s larger classifications. Palmi received 59.29% of possible votes over the other three finalists, also volleyball players: Lakeland’s Erin Miller, Winter Park’s Fallon Stewart, and Winter Haven’s Rylee Tanner.

It’s hard to imagine a more impressive season than what Palmi accomplished as a freshman as Osceola went 26-5 to reach the Class 7A state semifinals. Palmi lead the Kowboys in multiple statistical categories with a stat line that included 591 kills, 58 aces, 24 blocks, 302 digs, 4 assists, and 292 returns. She racked up averages including a 46.8 kill percentage, 34 hit percentage and 5.6 kills per set.

As a sophomore, Palmi still has her best days ahead, which could include a big 2023 season for the Kowboys. Congratulations once again to Osceola volleyball player Cate Palmi, the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for August 2023.
