Here are our top 10 performers from recent action in the 2026 Georgia high school boys basketball season.
Newnan junior Jaylin Brown led all scorers with 26 points to lead his Newnan Cougars boys basketball team to a 96-63 win over McIntosh in a recent Region 3-5A matchup. He then added 28 points in Newnan’s 81-52 win over Morrow on Friday night, keeping the Cougars undefeated with an overall record of 13-0 and 4-0 in region play. Brown also contributed in other areas against the Chiefs as he pulled down four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Gainesville senior point guard KJ White led the Red Elephants to the Lanierland Showcase Tournament Championship over the Christmas break and has been a big reason for the team’s undefeated start to the season so far. White led Gainesville in scoring with 16 points in their tournament semifinal win over East Hall, then led the team’s effort in the championship game win over Cherokee Bluff with 24 points to win tournament MVP.
Baldwin’s Karez Demory scored 10 points, added four assists, and pulled down 14 rebounds for a double-double against Westside-Augusta recently to lead his Braves team to a 63-48 win.
Baldwin senior Jaylen “Boom” King also earned top performer recognition for his effort against the Patriots from Westside with his double-double. King scored 11 points to lead the team in scoring but also came away with 10 rebounds to contribute to the Braves’ victory.
Milton junior forward Solomon Bratton had two big games for his Eagles squad against Gainesville and Johns Creek this past week. Bratton had a double-double in Milton’s 68-60 loss vs. Gainesville with 25 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. He then followed that up with another double-double performance in a 53-50 loss against Johns Creek. He had 20 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots vs. the Gladiators to cap off a dominant two-game performance.
Trinity Christian freshman forward Jake Cannon came up with a double-double for the Lions in a recent game against LaGrange, but despite his efforts, the Lions fell short against the Grangers 58-54. Cannon poured in 15 points while adding 11 rebounds against LaGrange.
Woodland junior wing Eric Thornton scored six points, pulled down 13 rebounds, had seven assists, two steals, and two blocks for the Wolfpack against Locust Grove earlier this week. He followed that up with a 19-point performance along with 12 rebounds for his Woodland team in their game against Eagles Landing this past Friday night.
Houston County junior power forward Mahkel Stephens showed out in the Bears’ 72-48 win over Thomas County Central, leading the team in scoring with 19 points while adding seven rebounds and two blocks for Houston County. The win raised the Bears’ record to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in Region 2-5A.
Decatur senior point guard Bryce Howson led his team in scoring with 14 points while adding seven rebounds, four assists, and had one block in their 62-56 road win at Woodward Academy Friday night.
North Gwinnett junior Max Patterson led his team to back-to-back region wins this past week with 32 points and 16 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 68-55 win over Duluth. He then followed that up with yet another strong effort against Brookwood, scoring 18 points and pulling down 15 rebounds in North Gwinnett’s 51-49 win over the Broncos.
