Houston County QB Ryan Maxwell Among Top Performers in Week 5 of 2025 Georgia High School Football Season

Here are our Top 10 performers from Week 5 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season.

Top Offensive Performances

Houston County quarterback Ryan Maxwell completed 23-of-28 pass attempts for 326 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Houston County Bears to a 57-14 win over Tift County.

Roswell running back Nick Peal had 223 total yards of offense and scored four touchdowns to pace the Hornets’ offense in their win over Westlake. Peal rushed for 155 yards rushing on just 15 carries. He also had two receptions for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Heard County quarterback Ethan Tisdale led his team to a 29-28 victory over Bowdon Friday night with a four-touchdown performance, rushing 16 times for 75 yards and the four scores. He also completed 7-of-13 passes for 117 yards

Colquitt County running back Jae Lamar had a five-touchdown game versus Lee County to lead the Packers’ effort in their 43-36 win over the Trojans. Lamar ended the night with 22 carries for 162 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while adding two more receiving touchdowns on two catches for 55 yards.

Crisp County running back LJ Brown had 19 carries for 208 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead Crisp County to their first win of the season, a 66-38 scorching of Dougherty High.

Cambridge quarterback Connor Langford completed 27-of-34 pass attempts for 378 yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions to lead the Bears to a 34-26 win over Calhoun.

Top Defensive Performances 

Roswell linebacker Brody Duffy made 11 tackles, including two tackles for loss, plus was credited with 1 ½ sacks for the Hornets’ defensive effort against Westlake in the Hornets’ 50-30 victory.

North Paulding defensive tackle Wesley Rakestraw had nine tackles, including three tackles for loss, and two quarterback sacks.

Top Special Team Performances

Milton’s Lawson Estes blocked a Blessed Trinity punt, and teammate Billy Weidova scooped up the ball and returned it for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Eagles a 21-10 lead.

Greater Atlanta Christian kicker Graham Anand kicked a 36-yard field goal with just seconds remaining to give the Spartans a 37-35 last-second win over Lumpkin County.
