High School Football Recruiting: 10 Uncommitted 2023 Five-Stars

As we approach the end of the 2022 high school football season, many of the nation’s top prospects will be making their college decisions in the coming weeks. We check in on some of those prospects here, looking at 10 2023 five-stars who remain uncommitted, and considering when each’s decision might take place and what it might be. Keon Keeley – Berkeley Prep, FL

The No. 1 edge rusher in the country, Keeley is the most coveted prospect in the country. The former Notre Dame commit could be making a decision in the near future, with programs such as Alabama, Florida, and Ohio State in the mix.

Nyckoles Harbor – Archbishop Carroll, DC

Harbor, the nation’s top athlete, is another highly touted defensive line prospect who could end up playing edge rusher at the next level. Harbor has more than 40 offers, with frontrunners including LSU, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, and a few others.

Desmond Ricks – IMG Academy, FL

One of the nation’s more intriguing uncommitted high school football prospects at the moment is Ricks, a five-star cornerback at IMG Academy who recently reclassified to the 2023 class. Ricks has many of the nation’s top programs chasing a commitment, including Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Miami.

James Smith – Carver-Montgomery, AL

One-half of the one of the nation’s top defensive duos, Smith is squarely in the conversation for the top defensive lineman in the 2023 class. He’s down to a final list of schools that includes Alabama, Alabama State, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State.

Samson Okunlola – Thayer Academy, MA

The nation’s top uncommitted offensive lineman at the moment is Okunlola, a five-star out of Thayer Academy in Massachusetts. Okunlola has offers from over 40 schools that include Alabama, Michigan State, and Miami.

Damon Wilson – Venice, FL

The third player from Florida on this list, Wilson is also among the nation’s top edge rushers. He holds offers from numerous collegiate programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Miami, and Ohio State.

Duce Robinson – Pinnacle, AZ

Robinson, the nation’s top tight end, is arguably the top offensive skill player in the 2023 high school football class who is still currently uncommitted. Multiple schools are in the mix for Robinson, with Georgia and USC among the most notable.

Samuel M’Pemba – IMG Academy, FL

The second player from national power IMG Academy on this list, M’Pemba is not far behind fellow Florida products Keeley and Wilson as one of the top edge rushers in high school football. M’Pemba has interest from numerous schools that include Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Tennessee.

Qua Russaw – Carver-Montgomery, AL

The second half of the aforementioned top defensive duo, Russaw is a coveted defensive prospect who can play multiple positions. Russaw has the same final list of schools as Smith previously.

Matayo Uiagalelei – St. John Bosco, CA

The final uncommitted five-star 2023 high school football prospect on our list is Uiagalelei out of national powerhouse St. John Bosco in California. One of the nation’s top edge rushers, Uiagalelei has offers from numerous programs that include Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC.
