Florida High School Football Rankings: Week 5

As we enter Week 5, the 8A-5A Top 25 Florida high school football rankings saw notable movement outside of the Top 10.

While there were no notable risers, there were three teams who dropped including Jones and Lake Minneola who suffered road defeats, as well as Buchholz who lost 16-7 to Cardinal Gibbons.

Two new teams entered this week’s Top 25 in Deerfield Beach and Naples, each of whom own some impressive wins so far this season.

When looking at Week 5 matchups to watch, No. 10 Miami Columbus vs No. 12 Miami Palmetto, as well as No. 15 Edgewater vs No. 19 Apopka stick out most.

Despite no teams falling out or new teams debuting, the Week 5 4A-1A Top 25 Florida high school football rankings saw some change due to two notable results.

No. 21 Madison County saw a noticeable fall as they dropped a 20-14 road contest last Friday night at Chiles, while No. 16 Foundation Academy also dropped after losing 24-21 at home to No. 13 Lakeland Christian.

Looking ahead to the potential Week 6 rankings, the 4A-1A Top 25 could be affected by many notable games including:

No. 1 Cardinal Gibbons vs No. 18 Calvary Christian

No. 2 Chaminade-Madonna vs No. 9 Champagnat Catholic

No. 3 Bolles vs No. 15 University Christian

No. 4 Florida High vs No. 21 Madison County

No. 8 Booker T. Washington vs No. 20 Edison
