Carver Atlanta ATH Terrious Favors Among Top Performers in Round 1 of 2025 Georgia High School Football Playoffs

Here are our top 10 performers from Round 1 of the 2025 Georgia high school football playoffs.

Top Overall Performances

Carver-Atlanta athlete Terrious Favors scored six touchdowns, including a 54-yard receiving touchdown, a 96-yard rushing touchdown, and a 16-yard rushing touchdown. He also had three punt return touchdowns from 69 yards, 64 yards, and 82 yards all in one half of football to lead the Panthers to a Round 1 playoff win over Butler.

Hughes running back Qwantavius “Fatboy” Wiggins rushed for two touchdowns of 25 yards and 85 yards and had a 90-yard kick return touchdown as part of a 300-yard all-purpose game to lead the Panthers to a commanding Round 1 playoff win over East Paulding.

Early County athlete Devonis “DJ” Lee had nine carries for 259 yards with four touchdowns while adding four tackles and a fumble recovery on defense to lead the Bobcats to a Round 1 playoff win over Greene County.

Top Offensive Performances

Houston County wide receiver Maurice “MJ” Mathis Jr. had five catches for 135 yards with two TDs to lead the Bears to a Round 1 playoff win over Creekview.

Colquitt County running back Jae Lamar had four touchdowns and 170 yards rushing to lead the Packers to a 35-24 playoff win over Mill Creek.

Rome wide receiver Jeremy “JJ” Winston Jr. had six receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Wolves to a Round 1 playoff win over Lovejoy.

Top Defensive Performances

Berrien’s defense, led by defensive lineman Luke Lanier, defensive back Tre McQueen, and linebacker Connor Bullard, combined to lead the No. 31 seed Rebels to a stunning 7-0 shutout of the No. 2 seed and undefeated Lamar County Trojans in Barnesville, Georgia, in the opening round of the playoffs.

Collins Hill defensive lineman Daverin “Deuce” Geralds II had eight tackles with four quarterback hurries and three tackles for loss plus a QB sack in the standout defender’s final high school game against Lowndes in Round 1 of the playoffs.

Top Special Teams Performances

Buford kicker Andrew Ivaniciuc was 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts and 3-for-3 on field goal attempts of 25 yards, 38 yards, and 48 yards, respectively, to help Buford defeat Richmond Hill in Round 1 of the Class 6A playoffs.

Lowndes kicker Aiden Andrews was 4-for-4 on extra point attempts and became the Lowndes High School record holder for most career extra points. He also connected on his only FG attempt from 46 yards, and 4-of-7 kickoffs were touchbacks against Collins Hill in the Vikings’ playoff win versus the Eagles.
