Students at Camden County High School have just returned to class to begin the 2026-2027 school year. With the excitement of returning to classes also comes the demands that being a high school student brings, especially with the upperclassmen.
The fun of entering your first year of high school as a freshman and sophomore gives way to the reality that these final two years of high school are going to go by fast, and with it comes the question that every student finally faces: What’s next?
Thankfully, GEORGIA MATCH is here to give students and their parents a bit of peace of mind while making choices about their plans for postsecondary education a bit easier.
That’s especially true at Camden County High School where, according to Keisha Walker, Camden County High School’s director of school counseling, students receive valuable assistance from GEORGIA MATCH when it comes to advancing beyond high school.
“GEORGIA MATCH is a college admissions initiative that connects our high school seniors with provisional lists of public in-state colleges and universities they are academically qualified to attend,” Walker said.
“Camden County High School seniors will receive their official GEORGIA MATCH letter indicating which colleges and universities they matched with based on their HOPE GPA,” she said. “Students will be able to use their GEORGIA MATCH letter to ‘claim a spot’ for college admissions with eligible schools.”
With the assistance of GEORGIA MATCH having taken care of much of the heavy lifting, Camden County High School students can focus on making fun memories in their final year of high school.
Athletics and Facilities Receive Major Upgrades and Improvements
While academics are important, the athletics at Camden County High School are also a big part of the high school experience, and according to Athletic Director Welton Coffey, there are several projects underway to give student-athletes the finest facilities to enjoy while they train and take part in Wildcat team and individual sports.
“We are thrilled in regard to the future of Camden County High School,” Coffey said. “Thanks to the continued support from our superintendent, board members, and community, CCHS is undergoing a massive wave of capital improvements and building projects across our campus.”
Coffey provided us with a list of the latest additions and improvements ongoing at Camden County High School.
Ninth Grade Center Extension
This addition is designed to accommodate student growth and support Camden County’s championship-winning athletic and academic programs, including the state champion wrestling teams.
New Track and Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility
“We will have a brand-new outdoor track facility as well as a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility to support athletic programs, student activities, and special events,” Coffey said.
Baseball and Softball Hitting Facility and Parking
Coffey said that Camden County is adding batting cages and expanded parking facilities surrounding the ballfields.
Tennis Courts and Campus Parking Upgrades
Camden County High School tennis fans and student-athletes will enjoy upgraded parking infrastructure and lighting improvements around the tennis facilities.
So from helping students with their current studies as well as future postsecondary education plans, along with the student-athletes’ and fans’ experience, Camden County continues to strive for excellence.
