Kadrien Wooten Named ITG Next’s 2026 Coffee High School Male Athlete of the Year

Football and track standout Kadrien Wooten is ITG Next’s 2026 Coffee High School Male Athlete of the Year, presented by AgSouth Farm Credit.

Wooten is a 6-foot, 185-pound safety for the Trojans and is coming off a stellar 2025 season that saw him make 114 total tackles, an interception, three forced fumbles, and a blocked punt.

Coffee head football coach Mike Coe heaped all-around praise on Wooten for both his performance on the field and in the classroom.

“Kadrien Wooten is the true definition of a student-athlete, maintaining a 3.5 GPA while playing football and running track at Coffee High,” Coe said.

College recruiters have noticed Wooten’s outstanding skill set, as the hard-hitting Trojan defensive back has picked up 13 Division-I offers.

According to Coe, it appears Wooten’s recruitment process is officially closed.

“Kadrien is committed to play football at Georgia State University,” Coe said. “He was also an All-Region selection during this past 2025 season.”

Coe talked about the skills that set Wooten apart from the rest, earning him an All-Region selection and attracting major college programs.

“This spring he ran a blistering 4.48 (second) 40-yard dash to go along with his impressive weight room numbers, where he holds a 300-pound power clean,” Coe said.

Coe said he expects Wooten to continue to get better as he heads into his senior season.

“Known for his tremendous tackling skills, he looks to have a big-time senior campaign, and Kadrien will serve as a team captain for the Trojans as well,” Coe said.

As skilled as Wooten is on the field and on the track, Coe pointed out the good habits Wooten has that make winners successful in any walk of life.

“Kadrien’s best attribute is that he never misses school, workouts, or practice, and that consistency has allowed him to get better every year,” Coe said.
