Bacon County Center Makayla Thomas Among Top Performers in Georgia High School Girls Basketball Playoff Action

Here are our top performers from recent action in the 2026 Georgia high school girls basketball state playoffs.

Bacon County junior Makayla Thomas had two of the best performances of the 2026 GHSA girls basketball playoffs, recording back-to-back triple-doubles to lead her team to wins over Dublin and Banks County in the first two rounds in Class 1A-Division I. Thomas had 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 blocks in Bacon County’s 47-43 win over Dublin, then followed that up with 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 19 blocks in the Lady Red Raiders’ 45-43 win over Banks County.

Monroe senior KJ Acree scored 48 of her team’s 84 points to lead the Lady Golden Tornadoes to a 50-point win over East Hall in the opening round of the GHSA Class 3A girls basketball playoffs. Acree also contributed 15 rebounds in the 84-34 win.

Christian Heritage senior Carly Bramlett combined for 35 points and 13 rebounds in consecutive playoff wins for the Lady Lions over Aquinas and King’s Ridge in the first two rounds of the GHSA Private girls basketball playoffs.

Brooks County freshman Jaliyah Butts put up a double-double in the Lady Trojans’ second-round playoff win over Bryan County with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Butts also had three assists and three steals in the 53-47 win.

Southwest Georgia Academy point guard KJ Spann, a sophomore, led her team with a 26-point performance in the GIAA Class 2A state championship game against Brentwood.

Hardaway power forward Rhianna Boynton, a junior, stormed through the first two rounds of the GHSA Class 2A girls basketball playoffs with consecutive double-double performances. In the Lady Hawks’ 84-13 win over Butler in the first round, Boynton scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. She also had seven steals, four assists, and four blocked shots. In Hardaway’s 66-44 win over Carver-Columbus in the second round, Boynton had 16 points, a career-high 24 rebounds, six blocks, and two steals.

Metter guard Zion Saffore, a junior, scored 21 points and added three rebounds, three assists, and three steals to lead the Lady Tigers to a second-round playoff win over Taylor County 58-36. Metter advances to the Elite Eight of the GHSA Class 1A-Division II girls basketball state playoffs and will face Terrell County at home.

Bryan County senior Jasmine Mikell averaged 24 points, 4.2 assists, and 5.1 steals during her team’s region and state playoff run.

Monroe junior Taylor Mckinzy scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the Lady Golden Tornadoes’ playoff win over East Hall.
