Last week we took a peak at undefeated teams in Florida high school football Classes 3 and 4, including remaining matchups and what each team needed to do to finish the season with an unblemished record. Now we do the same for teams in Classes 1 and 2.
Class 2M
- Miami Central
Only one undefeated team, Miami Central, remains in what is arguably Florida high school football’s toughest classification. Coming off a 42-35 win last week over Miami Columbus, the Rockets have only one game left on their regular season schedule, a home contest this Friday night against Monsignor Pace.
Class 2S
- Florida State
- Bradford
- South Sumter
- Pensacola Catholic
- Estero
The Florida State Seminoles have two regular season games remaining, both of which are on the road, at Marianna and Lincoln in the next two weeks. Bradford also has two road games remaining, against Palatka and Suwannee.
South Sumter will travel to Dunnellon Friday night before concluding the regular season at home with Newberry. Estero also has two games remaining, against Bishop Verot and at Bonita Springs, while Pensacola Catholic has only one regular season game left, a road contest Friday night at West Florida.
Class 1M
- Chaminade-Madonna
- Trinity Christian
- Cardinal Newman
- Northside Christian
After last Friday night’s action, only four unbeatens remain in Class 1M, a group that is headlined by Chaminade-Madonna. The Lions, who have been dominant in recent weeks, have two home games remaining in the regular season, against St. John Paul II Academy and Treasure Coast.
As for the other three, Trinity Christian also has two home games left (Providence and Munroe), while Cardinal Newman has only one game remaining, against Gulliver Prep in two weeks. Northside Christian has games left against Zephyrhills Christian and at Orlando Christian Prep.
Class 1S
- North Florida Christian
- Evangelical Christian
Two undefeated teams remain in Class 1S, North Florida Christian and Evangelical Christian. The Eagles have only one matchup remaining, at Munroe this Friday night, while the Sentinels have road games in the next two weeks at Southwest Florida Christian and Community School of Naples.
Class 1R
- Hawthorne
- Northview
- Williston
- Chipley
- Sneads
The final Florida high school football classification on this list, Class 1R, has five teams remaining unbeaten entering the week. The list is topped by Hawthorne, which has two home matchups against Dade Christian and Astronaut left.
Northview also has two home matchups remaining, against Escambia County (AL) and Bay, while Williston will host Hamilton County, followed by a trip to Chiefland. Chipley will host Excel (AL), then travel to Dixie County, and Sneads has a road contest remaining at Freeport in two weeks.
From these five classifications listed above, who do you think will be the final team, or teams, to finish the 2022 Florida high school football season undefeated?
