Unbeaten Florida High School Football Teams in Classes 3-4 and Independent

We’re well past the midway point of the 2022 Florida high school football season, but a number of teams across the state still remain unbeaten. Let’s look at Classes 3 and 4, as well as independent teams, and see who those teams are and what lies ahead for each prior to the beginning of the playoffs. (Teams undefeated as of Saturday, October 15.)

Independent

  • Clearwater Academy International
  • Oak Hall

Of the independent Florida high school teams across the state, two are still unbeaten: Clearwater Academy International and Oak Hall. The Knights sit at 6-0, while the Eagles are 7-0. Oak Hall has one more regular-season matchup, set for this Friday night at home against Saint Francis Catholic, while Clearwater Academy International has a tough road ahead to eventually reach an undefeated regular season. That’s because two of their remaining three games are on the road against Lakeland and Venice, with a home game against Roar Prep & Vocational Academy between the two.

Class 4M

  • Miami Columbus
  • Hagerty
  • Santaluces

As of Saturday, three undefeated teams remained in Class 4M, two of which, Hagerty and Santaluces, played on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Should they win those games, Hagerty will have University, at Spruce Creek, and Oviedo left in the regular season, while Santaluces has three home games against Spanish River, Park Vista, and Atlantic remaining.

The Explorers have a massive showdown set for this Friday night with fellow unbeaten Miami Central. Should they get past that, they would likely be favorites in the regular-season finale against Goleman at home.

Class 4S

  • Lakeland
  • Buchholz
  • Bartram Trail
  • Vero Beach
  • Springstead

Buchholz and Bartram Trail face off on Friday night, so at least one of these unbeaten Class 4S teams is guaranteed to lose its first game of the season. After that, Buchholz has two more matchups in the regular season, against Fleming Island and Bolles, while Bartram Trail has two as well, against Oakleaf and Mandarin.

Lakeland has the aforementioned showdown with Clearwater Academy International on Friday night, as well as two other games against Kathleen and Lakewood. Vero Beach has two regular- season games left against Martin County and Treasure Coast, and Springstead still has Mitchell and Lecanto left to play.

Class 3M

  • St. Thomas Aquinas
  • Tampa Bay Tech
  • Edgewater
  • Blanche Ely
  • Largo
  • East Bay

Out of all the classifications in Florida high school football, Class 3M has the most teams remaining unbeaten with six. St. Thomas Aquinas has two games remaining against Monarch and Boyd Anderson, while Tampa Bay Tech will travel twice in the next two weeks to Jesuit and Armwood. Edgewater also has two games remaining, both at home against Horizon and Boone.

Blanche Ely has three games remaining, two of which are on the road against Piper and Dillard, with the Tigers playing West Boca Raton at home in between the two. Largo also has three left – against Lakewood, Osceola, and Northeast – and East Bay faces Berkeley Prep, Bloomingdale, and King.

Class 3S

  • Pine Forest
  • Lake Wales

Just two teams remain unbeaten in Class 3S, Pine Forest and Lake Wales. The Eagles have regular-season matchups left against Escambia and Booker T. Washington, while Lake Wales has three games remaining against Liberty, Auburndale, and Bartow.

Of the groups listed above, who do you think will be the last team, or teams, to remain unbeaten between now and the end of the season? Stay tuned next week, when we will take a look at the unbeaten teams in Florida high school Classes 2M, 2S, 1M, and 1S.
