4 Questions with Pace Girls Basketball Coach Greg Gill
We spoke to Pace Girls Basketball head coach Greg Gill about the Patriots start to the 2021-22 season, and how this season’s team compares to previous teams at Pace.
Q: How many years have you been coaching overall, as well as at Pace?
A: I have been coaching now for 8 years…all at Pace.
Q: Your team has gotten off to a 4-3 start to the season as of December 1. What are some takeaways from your team’s first couple of games to start the 2021-22 campaign?
A: We are younger (1 senior) and we still have a lot of room to grow. Especially situationally. The girls have absolutely no quit. I love their spirit.
Q: You have a bit of a younger team compared to previous years, but return a few key players from a year ago such as junior Teagan Skipworth. How does this Patriots team compare to some of your previous teams at Pace?
A: This might be one of the younger teams we have put on the floor. We have three underclassmen getting major minutes. Teagan provides some fire and experience from her previous two years on varsity. She is a walking double-double.
Q: What are you looking forward to most with this Patriots team as the season continues?
A: I am looking forward to seeing how the game slows down for the youngsters and how we continue to bond as a team.
