Week 5 of the Florida high school football season brought a few notable results causing some movement in the 8A-5A Top 25.
Among the most-notable movement, No. 17 Lake Gibson was the biggest faller of the week dropping six spots after a 27-7 loss to Riverview Sarasota, while Miami Columbus, Treasure Coast, and Apopka almost fell after losing close contests to ranked teams.
One new teams enters the Top 25 this week as 7A’s Tampa Bay Tech slots in at No. 25 after a 28-14 win at Gaither to bring the Titans record to 4-0.
Games to watch this week include Seminole vs Chaminade-Madonna, American Heritage vs Cardinal Gibbons, and Miami Central vs Miami Northwestern.
Despite no teams debuting or falling-out for the second consecutive week, there was a lot of movement throughout the Week 6 4A-1A Top 25.
There were three teams who dropped a noticeable amount this week in Florida High, Seffner Christian, and Calvary Christian, while No. 18 University Christian also saw a drop. University Christian suffered a 31-0 defeat to No. 3 Bolles, while the other three suffered losses to either lower-ranked or unranked teams.
Looking ahead to next week, the 4A-1A Top 25 has the potential for possibly most-movement of the season as many high-profile matchups take center-stage headlined by Bolles vs Trinity Christian, Gulliver Prep vs Champagnat Catholic, and Berkeley Prep vs Tampa Catholic.
