Matanzas had a successful season in 2017 and was one of their best seasons to date.
Under Head Coach Robert Ripley, the Pirates are improving. In his first three seasons, Matanzas has been showing some real promise. In 2016, they finished 8-2. Last season however, they finished 7-3, but they made the playoffs for the first time in school history.
The Matanzas Pirates could be set up to make school history again this season. With plenty of returning starters and a solid coaching staff the 2017 season could shape up very nicely for Matanzas.
