Atlantic Coast has hired Jimmy Hill as their new head coach. As a new school it was hard for them to attract athletes without an established program. Atlantic Coast struggled because of this and went 3-7 last season under Matt Elliott.
The Stingrays found Hill from a high school in Detroit where he coached before coming to Atlantic Coast. “The team has some talent,” said Hill. “The goal is to have some of these kids who came in last year to stay and not transfer.” Hill explained that last year over 10 kids transferred to play football elsewhere. Luckily, not one has left this year.
It is baby steps like this that are important to Hill and the Stingray program he is trying to build. The question is how much time Hill will have to rebuild this program before they start to expect wins. Time will tell.
