5 Florida Recruiting Decisions to Watch for in 2022 Early Signing Period

One of the biggest events in the world of recruiting will take place this week as the 2022 Early Signing Period will run from Wednesday, December 21 through Friday, December 23. Some recruits sign their national letter of intent with collegiate programs, while many of the nation’s top uncommitted prospects make their decisions on where they will play next fall. Who are some of the top names to watch for from Florida? Here are six recruiting decisions to monitor during the Early Signing Period. Each of these players is among the top uncommitted 2023 prospects remaining in the Sunshine State.

Damon Wilson (Venice)

Wilson, the state’s top uncommitted edge rusher, will announce his decision from a list of finalists headlined by Georgia and Ohio State. The five-star prospect was a key piece for Class 4S runner-up Venice this season, compiling 82 tackles and 8 sacks in 12 games for the Indians defense.

Desmond Ricks (IMG Academy)

Ricks, an IMG Academy cornerback who was originally in the 2024 class, announced in October that he was reclassifying to 2023, instantly making the five-star’s recruitment one of the most intriguing in the state. Ricks is now set to make an Early Signing Period decision from an all-SEC list of finalists that include Alabama, Florida, and LSU.

Jordan Hall (Westside)

One of the nation’s top uncommitted defensive linemen, Hall, a four-star prospect, will also make a decision from a list of SEC finalists that include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU. Hall is coming off a massive senior season at Westside, where he recorded 106 tackles, 31 TFL, and 9 sacks.

Daniel Harris (Gulliver Prep)

Harris, a former Georgia commit, is rated as a four-star cornerback. A few programs are in the mix for the Gulliver Prep standout, including the Bulldogs and Penn State. Harris is coming off a senior season in which he compiled 49 tackles for the Raiders in eight games.

Damari Brown (American Heritage)

Brown, who compiled 43 tackles in 15 games for American Heritage this season, is another cornerback from Florida who is uncommitted entering the Early Signing Period. The four-star cornerback has interest from multiple schools that include Alabama, Florida State, and Miami.
