Preseason – Updated 6/5/2025
Here are ITG Next’s 2025 Georgia high school football preseason rankings for Class 1A-Division II.
Bowdon won its third straight state title in 2024, and head coach Rich Fendley may have the team to make it four in a row in 2025. He’ll return three players who accounted for 46 of the Red Devils’ TDs last season. That’s a lot of production coming back.
Josh McFather made quite the debut in 2024 in his first season as Brooks County’s head coach, and the Trojans will certainly be a force once again in 2025 with some of the state’s best skill positions returning.
Irwin County has a new head coach in Larry Harold, formerly of Central Gwinnett. He replaces Casey Soliday, who stepped away after the 2024 season.
With 21 seniors gone from last season’s 12-2 squad, Manchester could be the classification’s biggest question mark in 2025.
Clinch County head coach Jim Dickerson is back with the Panthers for a second season, and he’ll have his team in the mix once again.
My surprise pick? Mitchell County. Head coach Dondrial Pinkins has 14 starters back this season, including most of the offense.
- Bowdon
- Brooks County
- Clinch County
- Metter
- Lincoln County
- Telfair County
- Schley County
- Jenkins County
