Who Should Be the No. 1 Football Team in the Country?
With the 2021 high school football season now officially underway across a majority of the nation, who should be considered as the No. 1 football team in the country?
Arguably the top team overall going into the 2021 season is IMG Academy (FL), who despite losing multiple key pieces is deep with talent headlined by defensive backs Kamari Wilson and Daylen Everette.
What about California powerhouses in Mater Dei and St. John Bosco? The Monarchs have yet to play their first game, but return depth headlined by five-star cornerback Domani Jackson and running back Raleek Brown. St. John Bosco on the other hand were victorious in their season opener Friday with a 35-12 win over Miami-Central, one of the top teams in the state of Florida.
If one of these three teams aren’t No. 1, then a case could certainly be made as well for either Westlake (TX) or Thompson (AL).
