Florida High School Football Rankings: Week 2

While last week was just more of a tune up for a number of teams around the state of Florida, it still provided us a glimpse at how the squads look heading into regular season action this week. For that reason, there was plenty of movement in our Class 1A-4A Top 25 Florida high school football rankings coming into Week 2.

The team with the biggest jump in the rankings this week is the Florida High Seminoles, who actually kicked off regular season play last week with a big 35-15 victory over Thomas County Central (GA).

Additionally, a new team takes over the No. 25 spot this week. The Bradford Tornadoes are coming off a strong Preseason Classic showing last week over the Santa Fe Raiders.

We’ll see how the action plays out this week and if the rankings will look similar next week.

Similar to our Class 1A-4A Top 25 Florida high school football rankings, there was also some shuffling after Week 1 preseason action in the Class 5A-8A Top 25 as well.

The most notable move is the Venice Indians, who put on quite the offensive showing against Miami Northwestern in a 56-34 Preseason Classic victory.

Furthermore, the Jesuit Tigers cracked the Top 10 in our Week 2 rankings after an impressive outing against Largo last Friday night. The Tigers won the scrimmage 35-0.

Lastly, Armwood is the new addition to the Class 5A-8A Top 25 this week after a notable performance against Class 4A powerhouse Booker T. Washington in their Kickoff Classic as well.

Lot’s of movement in the rankings. We’ll see if there is more after the action that takes place this week.
