Head Coach Harry Lees is quick and to the point.  When asked about his 2015 campaign, he had just five words – district champs, looking for more.  And 2016 may just be the year the Jags recapture the success of the 2012, 2013 and 2014 squads, who went a collective 29-5.

Statistical leaders in passing, rushing and receiving return to a potent offensive squad.  A total of six starters on offense return for 2016.  Erik Antwaun will again be under center and looking to improve on his 2000 yard passing season.  Daymon Johnson snagged 750 yards on the receiving end and RB Marquise Ross looks to add to his 562 rushing yards just a season ago.  Coach Lees is looking for a young offensive line to come together quickly, led by K.B. Newberry and Taylor Williams. This will allow the talented trio of skill players to maximize every opportunity.

While the offense gels, the defense is looking for a fast start.  That begins right up front with experienced linemen Vidal Scott, Antonio Moultrie and Adarius McWilliams.  That front is backed up by Kalia Davis, who led the team with 114 tackles in 2015 and returning starter Corey Marineaux.  Daquarius Gaines returns to lead the secondary.

Coach Lees pointed to a couple of early season injuries in 2015 that hurt but helped the team in the long run.  “While we lost those players, it caused us to change the offense and that helped us be more multiple faceted.  It also motivated us to play more guys both ways”, he said.
