The Turner County football program hasn’t had a winning season since 2012, when they finished 6-5. They have already guaranteed that 2015 will be different.
This Friday, the still-undefeated Rebels are headed to Homerville to continue their pursuit of perfection. They have been very impressive thus far, as their 6-0 record (3-0 in Region 2-A) has been accentuated by one shutout (a 44-0 win over Charlton County) and a win margin of nearly 32 points per game.
Waiting for them at Panther Stadium, however, is a Clinch County team that is fully prepared to end the streak that the Rebels have put together this season. The Panthers are currently 5-1 on the year (2-1 in region play), with their only loss coming in Ocilla at the hands of Irwin County on Sept. 18.
Leading the way for the hometown Panthers will be Chauncey Manac, the force of nature lining up at defensive end. The four-star Georgia commit will surely be ready to make his presence felt as the action gets underway Friday evening on Donald Tison Field.
