The streak is at 20 games.  A second title is one week closer.

But standing in the way is a hungry Trojans team in Leesburg.

The Colquitt County Packers started Region 1-AAAAAA play with a bang, blasting the Lowndes Vikings in a rain-soaked affair by a score of 42-20.  While the weather played a role on both sides throughout the night, the defending GHSA State Champions were able to come out on top, and head into their second region match-up still undefeated.

Senior quarterback Chase Parrish was impressive as usual, giving the Packers 257 yards in the air (13-23 passing), including a highlight-worthy 98-yard connection with Isaiah Thomas early in the contest.  Kiel Pollard added to the offense with seven receptions for 113 yards and a score, and Nate Powell IV gave Colquitt 121 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts on the ground.  Defensively, Akivie Bailey (16) and Landon Scott (13) combined for 29 tackles on the night.

The Packers are primed.  The Packers are ready.  And this week, they will face another undefeated team in the Lee County Trojans.

The Trojans are somewhat familiar with ending streaks: Their 42-14 victory last week ensured that the Tift County Blue Devils would have at least one loss on their record.  This time, however, they will be hosting the defending champs.

Last week, the hot hand of Garret Morrell was on display once again.  He finished with 207 yards and three touchdowns, connecting on 10 of 15 passing attempts.  He also bruised the Blue Devils on the ground, rushing six times for 117 yards and one score.  Not far behind was Demerious Milton, who added 73 yards and two visits to the end zone on 28 rushing attempts.

Last year, many saw Lee County as an underdog heading into the season.  Now, they have earned their respect, and they are aiming to end the streak and tack a loss on the record of the Packers.
