The Packers Eyeing Another Region Title
Tift County Blue Devils (5-3, 0-3) vs. Colquitt County Packers (8-0, 3-0)

Venue
Mack Tharpe Memorial Stadium
Moultrie, Ga.
After a week off, the Colquitt County Packers are ready to take the field once more in their pursuit of back-to-back state titles. The next step in the process will be playing host to the Blue Devils of Tift County on Friday night.
In their last action, broadcast to a statewide audience on Georgia Public Broadcasting, the Packers easily disposed of the Valdosta Wildcats, handing them a 49-14 loss at Mack Tharpe Memorial Stadium. Colquitt opened a 35-0 lead by the half and never looked back, edging the ‘Cats 312-127 in yards during that same span.
The win moved the Packers to a perfect 8-0 and also gave them their 23rd win in a row after their undefeated title run in 2014.
Tift County has endured a season that has not exactly met expectations. Despite impressive efforts from key players, the Blue Devils have dropped their first three region contests after opening the year with five straight wins.
They fought hard in their last outing against Camden County, but fell short, losing 31-21. The loss puts the Blue Devils at the bottom of Region 1-AAAAAA and a game behind Lee County, Valdosta, and Lowndes (who all share a 1-2 region record).
A Colquitt win could potentially set up one of the most anticipated matchups of the year. The final game of the regular season pits the defending champions against the Camden County Wildcats; should both teams win on Friday, they will enter next week undefeated to battle for the region crown.
