Warriors Look to Make Noise at the Playoffs

The Warriors are excited for a bounce back season after going 4-7 last year under Head Coach Rickey Armstrong. The strength for this upcoming season is their returning leaders on their team.

West Nassau has their quarterback Walker Wright and running back Kyler Crosby returning for their senior year. With the Warriors running the read option, these two plan on having a big season after last year rushing for almost 2,000 yards combined. 6’3” tight end Wyatt Johnson is making a position change to wide receiver after last season, making second team all-state.   Johnson, with a 3.9 GPA, has looks from colleges such as Davidson and Furman.

The struggle last year West Nassau faced was turnovers and small mistakes here and there to decide games. Coach Armstrong explained to In the Game that their defense has gotten even stronger this year with returning leader middle linebacker Levi Mumford. Mumford had 76 total tackles and six sacks last season.

“We love our support and have a great booster club with top of the line stuff,” Armstrong said. With the change of the district rules coach Armstrong believes his team will have a better chance making noise in the playoffs.
