Top 5 Florida Football Recruits for 2022
The 2020-21 school year has come and gone in the state of Florida. And as we head into summer, one topic dominates the minds of high school sports junkies – preseason football. Before August kickoff arrives, let’s examine the current top five Florida football recruits in the Class of 2022, according to 247Sports.
1. Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, DL, Lakeland
Topping the list in the Class of 2022 is defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy. The 5-star recruit has 23 offers but is leaning heavily towards choosing Oklahoma. In 2020, he made the Ledger All-County first-team and helped guide his squad to the 7A state playoffs. Brownlow-Dindy also competes in track and field, and as a junior, won a 4A state title in the discus.
2. Shemar Stewart, DL, Monsignor Pace
Coming in at No. 2 is another defensive lineman, Shemar Stewart. The 5-star recruit currently has over 30 offers but is leaning towards Miami. In 2019, Stewart helped Monsignor Pace reach the regional quarterfinals in Class 4A. Unfortunately, he missed most of his junior season in 2020 due to a sprained AC joint and a severe bone bruise in his knee. He is a two-sport athlete in football and basketball.
3. Jaheim Singletary, CB, Robert E. Lee
The third spot belongs to cornerback Jaheim Singletary. The 5-star recruit had over 20 offers before committing to Ohio State University back in January. In 2020, Singletary played both offense and defense for his squad that made the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs. He was also named to MaxPreps All-Florida team, as well as Jacksonville.com’s All-First Coast team.
4. Keon Sabb, ATH, IMG Academy
In the No. 4 spot on the list is athlete Keon Sabb. The 5-star prospect currently has 34 offers, and it is anyone’s guess where he ends up. However, he recently took an official visit to Penn State and will soon be heading to Georgia and Texas A&M for two more official visits. He is also considering Oregon, Clemson and LSU. Prior to transferring to IMG Academy for his junior season, Sabb played at Glassboro in New Jersey. While he is impressive on the football field, Sabb also shines in basketball and track.
5. Kamari Wilson, S, IMG Academy
Rounding out the Floridian Top Five in the Class of 2022 is safety Kamari Wilson. The 5-star recruit has over 30 offers, but he seems to be favoring the University of Georgia as his collegiate destination. As a sophomore at Fort Pierce Westwood, Wilson amassed 114 tackles and five interceptions before transferring to IMG Academy for his junior year in 2020. At IMG, he started at safety, while also getting playing time on special teams.
