In high school cross country, the 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) race is the most common. Out of over 8,000 races run so far in the season, these five athletes are doing it the best, coming in with the fastest times so far.
Satellite High School is seeming to be the most impressive this year, representing two of the athletes in the top five.
At the end of the 2019 season, these five athletes were unable to secure a top-five position, but their current times are quick enough that they should be confident in their ranking for the 2020 season.
