Top 4 Rushing Leaders in Florida So Far This Season
As we approach the mid-way point of the 2021 Florida high school football season, there are four running backs in particular who have shined so far this season. Here is a short look at what those four have done this season as the top rushing leaders in the state of Florida.
Kayleb Wagner – Baker
Despite appearing in fewer games, Kayleb Wagner has totaled 1,228 yards rushing so far this season, mainly due to his massive Week 4 performance. Breaking Derrick Henry’s single-game rushing record in the state of Florida, Wagner carried the ball 25 times in which he amassed 535 yards on the ground with six touchdowns. For the season, the junior is averaging 19.5 yards per carry.
Jaylon Glover – Lake Gibson
The state’s No. 2 rusher through the first five games of the season is Lake Gibson senior Jaylon Glover. A three-star recruit, the Utah commit has carried the ball a total of 143 times so far this season, totaling 1,110 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 7.8 yards per carry. Glover has also rushed for 100+ yards in every game this season, as well as three games of 200+ yards rushing.
Luke Yoder – Palm Harbor
Luke Yoder currently ranks third in the state in rushing, having totaled 847 yards so far this season on 118 carries with six touchdowns. The junior has also reached the 200+ yard mark for the past three games, while also having rushed for 311 yards and two touchdowns a week ago on 51 carries.
Mason Norwood – Lake Brantley
Mason Norwood ranks fourth in the state in rushing, having carried the ball 114 times through five games for a total of 830 yards and nine touchdowns. The senior has eclipsed the 100+ yard mark in a game four times this season and has had three multi-touchdown games.
