The 2023 high school football recruiting class is shaping up to be a loaded group. Following is our position-by-position look at the top 2023 high school football recruits. (Rankings courtesy of the 247Sports Composite)

QB – Arch Manning (Isidore Newman, LA)

Odds are that if you have paid attention to recruiting headlines over the last calendar year, then you have heard the name Arch Manning. The nation’s consensus No. 1 overall recruit from Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, LA, Manning is one of the more coveted high school recruits in recent memory, with Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas in the mix for the five-star.

RB – Rueben Owens (El Campo, TX)

Owens is a five-star prospect from El Campo High School in El Campo, TX, and it’s hard to name a better 2021 season by a running back than what he accomplished. Rushing for 2,989 yards and 46 touchdowns as a junior, Owens is a coveted prospect who has elite speed and holds offers from countless Power 5 programs.

WR – Brandon Inniss (American Heritage, FL)

While he saw a majority of his time at quarterback during his junior season, Inniss is still rated as the nation’s top wide receiver. Attending American Heritage High School in Plantation, FL, the five-star is a coveted prospect with schools such as Alabama, Miami, Ohio State, and USC in the mix.

TE – Duce Robinson (Pinnacle, AZ)

Also a top baseball recruit, Robinson is a big tight end – 6-foot-6, 225 pounds – who is rated as a five-star recruit and the No. 22 overall player nationally. Attending Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ, Robinson holds upwards of 25 collegiate offers, with Georgia and USC leading the way.

OT – Kadyn Proctor (Southeast Polk, IA)

Proctor, the nation’s No. 7 overall player, is the top player in Iowa, where he attends Southeast Polk High School. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound five-star holds offers from over 30 collegiate programs, with Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, and Penn State currently in the mix.

IOL – Alex Birchmeier (Broad Run, VA)

A five-star prospect from Broad Run High School in Ashburn, VA, Birchmeier is also a standout wrestler who has won state championships each of the last two years. The nation’s No. 31 overall player in the 2023 high school football recruiting class is committed to Penn State.

EDGE – Keon Keeley (Berkeley Prep, FL)

A 6-foot-5, 240 pound edge rusher from Berkeley Prep High School in Tampa, FL, Keeley is rated as the No. 9 overall player in the country. He’s a long-time Notre Dame commit who has been committed to the Fighting Irish since June of 2021.

DL – David Hicks (Paetow, TX)

Speaking of multi-sport athletes, you’ll find few more impressive than Hicks in the 2023 high school footballrecruiting class. He basketball, throws shot put and discus and is a versatile, 6-4, 250-pound defensive lineman for Paetow High School in Katy, TX. The nation’s No. 4 player totaled 88 tackles and 13 sacks a year ago.

LB – Anthony Hill (Ryan, TX)

There are few linebackers nationally better than Hill, who attends Ryan High School in Denton, TX. The five-star has interest from schools such as Alabama, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC, and is coming off a year in which he totaled 131 tackles and eight sacks.

CB – Cormani McClain (Lake Gibson, FL)

A name we have talked about before, McClain has the potential to be one of the top cornerbacks to come out of Florida in recent memory. The nation’s No. 3 overall player, McClain plays both ways for the Lake Gibson High School Braves and has intercepted 19 passes over the last two seasons.

S – Caleb Downs (Mill Creek, GA)

While he also plays on the offensive of the ball, Downs is an elite safety prospect on the defensive side from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, GA. Holding offers from upwards of 30 collegiate programs, Downs is coming off a season in which he totaled 77 tackles and five interceptions.

ATH – Nyckoles Harbor (Archbishop Carroll, DC)

Harbor made national headlines by running a 10.28 100m at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds a few weeks ago. He is undoubtedly one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2023 high school football recruiting class. Attending Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington DC, Harbor is rated as the nation’s No. 12 overall player.

K – Adam Samaha (Huron, MI)

Samaha, the nation’s top kicker, attends Huron High School in Ann Arbor, MI. A three-star recruit, he is currently committed to the hometown Michigan Wolverines.
