While the focus for many football gurus will now be on the 2022 high school football recruiting cycle, it’s never too soon to start looking at the classes after it. Below is a list of the top 2023 Florida high school football players right now. These athletes are heading into their junior seasons this fall but are already getting the attention from some elite colleges. With the high school season still a few months away from kicking off, recruiting will perhaps continue to dominate the headlines, as fans, coaches and players count down the days until kickoff in August. This time of year provides the opportunity to really look into some up-and-coming players and see which athletes will be ones to look out for in the near future.
5.) Samuel M’Pemba, athlete, IMG Academy
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound athlete is rated as a 4-star recruit, according to 247Sports. M’Pemba is the No.3 player in the country in his position and ranks as the 21st-best player in the country for his class. This upcoming season will be his first with IMG, as the junior transferred to the Ascenders back in March after previously playing for Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He has a handful of offers from well-known schools that include Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma.
4.) Malik Bryant, pass rusher, IMG Academy
Bryant is 4-star recruit who currently ranks as the No.3 edge rusher in the country and the No.16 player in the nation, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound athlete appeared in five games this past season for IMG Academy and recorded 24 total tackles, according to MaxPreps. He has offers from multiple Division 1 schools that include Georgia, Alabama and Clemson.
3.) Brandon Inniss, wide receiver, American Heritage
Inniss currently is the No.1 wide receiver in the country and ranks as a 4-star recruit, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound junior has several offers that include Oklahoma, Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas and Auburn He also ranks as the 10th-best player overall for the 2023 class.
2.) Cormani McClain, cornerback, Lake Gibson
The roughly 6-foot-2, 165-pound cornerback ranks No.1 in the country at his position and is the No.7 player in the nation. McClain appeared in 13 games for Lake Gibson last season and had a total of 29 tackles, according to MaxPreps. Multiple Division 1 schools have their eyes on the highly-touted athlete, and he has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida and Florida State, just to name a few.

Mauigoa currently sits as the No.1 overall recruit in the state of Florida for 2023, as well as the No.1 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound tackle already has the attention of a number of Division 1 schools and has offers from Michigan, LSU, Georgia and Oregon, just to name a few.
