Our list of Top 10 Georgia high school quarterbacks entering the 2025 season is led by a number of Class of 2027 signal-callers. With two more seasons still left in their high school careers, these junior QBs will only continue to grow and get even better than they are now, if that’s even possible.
1. Travis Burgess | Grayson | C/O 2026
Grayson quarterback Travis Burgess enjoyed a breakthrough junior season in 2024. He improved week over week, especially once the playoffs rolled around, leading the Rams to the state championship.
Burgess has continued to improve and impress this offseason, from strong showings in 7-on-7s to the national Elite 11 event in Southern California, competing alongside the best quarterbacks from around the country.
His offseason was highlighted with a commitment to North Carolina.
2. Kharim Hughley | Gainesville | C/O 2027
Gainesville quarterback Kharim Hughley is our highest-rated Class of 2027 player on this list, and he’ll be returning for his second straight season as the Red Elephants’ starting QB.
With a talented group surrounding Hughley, look for the Clemson commit to give Gainesville their best shot at a state title since head coach Josh Niblett’s first season with the team.
3. Harrison Faulkner | North Oconee | C/O 2026
Harrison Faulkner is another quarterback coming off a strong 2026 season in which he led North Oconee to the Class 4A state championship and an undefeated season.
He’s back for his senior season and will try to lead the Titans to a second straight state title. He has already made his collegiate decision, committing to the Georgia Southern Eagles.
4. Teddy Jarrard | North Cobb | C/O 2027
Teddy Jarrard is a four-star quarterback who will suit up for the North Cobb Warriors this year. He recently announced his commitment to attend Notre Dame after he finishes his high school career.
5. Ben Musser | Prince Avenue Christian | C/O 2027
Prince Avenue Christian quarterback Ben Musser is a four-star recruit in the Class of 2027 who is on the verge of making his decision to attend either Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, or Purdue.
No matter which school he decides on, Musser still has his junior season in 2025 and his senior season in 2026 to try to bring a state championship back to the Wolverines’ campus in Bogart, Georgia.
6. Lyndon Worthy | Worth County | C/O 2027
Lyndon Worthy has turned out to be one of the top quarterbacks in the state, which is why we have him ranked in our Top 10 at No. 6. He has already thrown for over 6,000 yards in just his first two seasons while completing 63% of passes. He led the Worth County Rams to nine wins and the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs in 2024.
7. Makyree Cross | Collins Hill | C/O 2027
Quarterback Makyree Cross has somewhat flown under the radar despite throwing for over 1,700 yards last season while leading his Collins Hill team to an 11-2 record, which included a come-from-behind, 1-point victory over eventual state champion Grayson.
He recently received an offer from Auburn, and it’s likely to be one of many to come for the Class of 2027 QB.
8. Trey Smith | Roswell | C/O 2026
Dual-threat quarterback Trey Smith is ready to enter his senior season at Roswell after a junior season that saw him throw for 2,493 yards while rushing for 875 yards. That performance caught the attention of several Division I college programs, including Furman University, where Smith committed to this summer.
9. Brodie McWhorter | Cass | C/O 2026
Four-star quarterback Brodie McWhorter is getting ready to lead the Cass Colonels in his senior season. He’s one of the best-looking quarterbacks at 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a rocket arm.
He has committed to attend Mississippi State University following his final year of high school.
10. Jayce Johnson | Lowndes | C/O 2027
Lowndes quarterback Jayce Johnson has emerged as one of the most electrifying dual-threat QBs in the state, as well as one of the most talented and highly recruited players. The four-star junior is ranked as the No. 63 player overall among the country’s Class of 2027 recruits by 247Sports.
