Worth County Rams 2025 Football Preview

We tell you everything you need to know about the 2025 Worth County High School football team in this preview, including roster changes and what fans can expect from the Rams this season.

2024 Season Stats

  • Overall Record: 9-4
  • Points Scored: 559
  • Points Allowed: 265

Key Roster Losses

Worth County will miss the production of two primary receivers from last year, including D’ontae “Big Play Tae” Fulton and Brandon Powell. Fulton had 72 receptions with 14 TDs in 2024 and has taken his talents to Georgia State University. Powell had seven TDs last season and has also graduated.

The Rams will also have to replace some big bodies up front with the loss of offensive linemen Chase Foley, Tristan Carter, and Caden Emerson.

The defense will be without linebackers Shermon Smith and Kelton Velez. Smith had 148 tackles and three sacks in 2024 and is now at the University of South Alabama. Velez had 38 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, and three sacks last season.

Key Players Returning

The Rams welcome back one of the state’s top signal-callers in junior quarterback Lyndon Worthy, who will be starting his third straight season for Worth County head football coach Jeff Hammond.

Joining Worthy in the offensive backfield are senior running backs Kaden Chester and Tre’shaun Jones.

Tight end Jayden Farley and offensive lineman Jhett Wilson, both seniors, are also back.

On defense, the Rams return defensive end Joshua McGee and defensive lineman King Toomer, both seniors. Senior Brady Weaver and junior Daylon Smith both return at linebacker.

Returning to the defensive backfield for Worth County are senior safeties Khalijah “KT” Thomas and Dewhite Council.

What to Expect From the Worth County Rams in 2025

Worth County is coming off a 9-4 season in 2024, just as we predicted in last year’s preview. With a ton of talent returning from that squad, the 2025 Rams should be pretty good once again, according to Hammond.

“Our expectations are high heading into this season,” Hammond said. “We are looking to build off last year’s success, and if we can fill some holes from the seniors we lost from last year, then I expect us to be playing in December.”

Worthy has turned into one of the best QBs in Georgia. Like so many other successful teams have shown, having a great QB can give you a chance to go far – like into December.

2025 Season Prediction

If the Rams can stay healthy, look for a deep run from Worth County in 2025. I predict a 10-4 overall record.
