A few weeks ago, we gave you the Top 10 South Georgia high school quarterbacks. Now it’s time to show some love to the QBs in the northern half of the state. Here’s the complete list of our Top 10 North Georgia high school quarterbacks.
1. Travis Burgess | Grayson | C/O 2026
Topping the list is Travis Burgess, the four-star North Carolina commit and Elite 11 QB from Grayson who led the Rams to the 2024 Class 6A state championship. There’s no doubt about putting him at the top of this list.
2. Kharim Hughley | Gainesville | C/O 2027
Another four-star recruit is our No. 2 choice, and that’s Gainesville standout Kharim Hughley. He started as a sophomore last year, but he’s enjoyed an outstanding offseason and will be one of the best in the state this season, leading Gainesville’s offense.
3. Teddy Jarrard | North Cobb | C/O 2027
Oddly enough, one of the most overlooked quarterbacks happens to be one of the best in the 2027 class, and that’s Teddy Jarrard of the North Cobb Warriors. The four-star, pro-style standout is coming off a 2024 season that saw him complete an incredible 72% of passes for 2,647 yards and 31 TDs for North Cobb Christian. He transferred to the crosstown Warriors in the offseason.
4. Harrison Faulkner | North Oconee | C/O 2026
Returning to lead the North Oconee Titans to what fans hope is a second straight GHSA Class 4A state championship is senior quarterback Harrison Faulkner.
One of the top dual-threat signal-callers in the state, he’s committed to attend Georgia Southern following the 2025 season.
5. Brodie McWhorter | Cass | C/O 2026
Rounding out our Top 5 North Georgia high school quarterbacks is Brodie McWhorter. The pro-style senior led Cass to a 6-5 record last year, but he and his teammates are hoping for a breakout 2025 season.
The four-star recruit has committed to Mississippi State University.
6. Trace Hawkins | Calhoun | C/O 2028
Trace Hawkins stole the spotlight among Georgia QBs last season. He took over Calhoun’s offense as a freshman, leading the Yellow Jackets back from a 1-3 start to 11 straight wins and the Class 3A state championship.
He has offers from several schools, including Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Indiana.
7. Trey Smith | Roswell | C/O 2026
Look for Roswell quarterback Trey Smith, a senior, to blossom even more this year under new head coach JT Thompson’s high energy offense. The Hornets’ dual-threat QB actually led the team in rushing in 2024 with 875 yards while throwing for 2,493 yards.
Smith recently announced his commitment to Furman University.
8. Cayden Benson | Creekside | C/O 2026
Cayden Benson is another of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in Georgia. Last season he had over 1,000 yards rushing and over 2,000 yards passing, and he threw for 30 TDs while rushing for 12 TDs.
Benson and receiver Damien Henderson will provide a lot of fireworks for the Creekside offense this season.
9. Darnell Kelly | Hughes | C/O 2026
Senior Darnell Kelly is a three-star recruit who will be making his first start for new Hughes head coach Andrico Hines after transferring to the Panthers in the offseason.
Kelly is committed to Colorado State University.
10. Dayton Raiola | Buford | C/O 2026
Buford senior Dayton Raiola rounds out our list of Top 10 North Georgia high school quarterbacks. Raiola is returning for his second season as the starting QB for the Wolves. He threw for 1,953 yards and 19 TDslast season.
Raiola will lead the Wolves into one of the most anticipated season openers in the state this year as Buford welcomes Milton, Class 5A’s defending state champion.
